“America’s Next Top Model” was, for a time, one of the biggest reality TV series on air. Since it made its debut on the now defunct UPN in 2003, the show has consistently been one of the highest rated series for its home networks. “Top Model” has been adapted into 50 different international versions, while the original competition has crowned 24 winners.
It’s been nearly 20 years since “ANTM” first taught us how to smize, but not every past winner is still using the runway advice that Tyra Banks once gave them. Let’s find out what the winners of “America's Next Top Model” look like today.

Its safe to say majority of the girls who were eliminated had even more successful careers than the winners. The shows title destroyed many of the girls chances post-top model.

Unfortunately the show gave an unrealistic view on the modeling industry, eliminating girls for ratings instead of nurturing the actual talent that came through.

a lot of girls who were eliminated (either too early to stick to viewers’ memory or just plain too good for the show) ended up getting signed to better agencies than the show provided as a prize

To be honest, none of the winners were meant to take the industry by storm. A lot of them were old to starting (Adrianne Curry and Yohana House, were 21 and 23 at the time they won), that was very old to be starting back then, on top of that, their looks were a bit outdated and they weren't exceptionally good models, as most models are, to be booked by major brands/designers. I think Tyra knew this, and by looking at the winners you'd realized they were picked mostly to fit the "cover girl" "seventeen magazine" image. Very few contestants actually had the potential (looks, not just pretty, you gotta actually have something that makes you stand out, a decent walk, and willingness to learn and improve) and those very few ones are the ones that had/have prominent or successful careers. Good careers: Elyse, Toccara, Mollie, Brittani C16. Top model level career: Fatima, Leila and Winnie. Others contestants found success in business, TV, acting, singing, etc.: Nyle, Lio, Yaya, Eva, Don, Hannah, Keith, Laura C19, and well I may be forgetting a few ones, but I think they're the most relevant ones.

@designerwendie8811
@designerwendie8811 2 жыл бұрын
@@ertfgghhhh Well first, there is no such thing as a "black nose" as black people have noses in all shapes and sizes. Secondly, what Tyra wants to permanently change on herself is her own prerogative. No one has a problem with that. The outrage was that she was forcing another woman to permanently change something she liked about herself. Third, Tyra claims to know supermodel history so its odd that she was not aware that supermodel Lauren Hutton from the 70s was extremely famous despite her very pronounced gap. Just a few seasons later, Tyra had a model WIDEN her gap. So the entire situation appeared to be less about the gap and perhaps about being dominant in that moment. Tyra has since called it a cringe-worthy moment and admits her fault.

I love Jaslene and everything she stood for on the show. She is by far one of my all time favorite contestants but Yoanna House was the first Latinx winner. Yoanna's mother is Mexican making her 50% Mexican. I think people overlook her since she is fair skinned. She even said on her season that her mom was from Mexico.

I’m the generation that watched this show from the start when I was 15/16 in 2003, In those times there was no instagram/Facebook/youtube so This show literally gave girls the exposure they needed. I genuinely love the earlier seasons 1 to 6 as I felt it was genuine and no phoney acting- the main goal was to get a modelling contract

English also ended up being a spokesperson for a Big Pharmaceutical Company in regards to her skin/autoimmune disease. I was happy for her. I have multiple ones and life is hard. She's lucky & probably made good $$ for her commercials. I have seen several of these women in different ads over the years. I was happy for them because it's a brutal industry to be in.

YaYa DaCosta, who was runner up in cycle 3, in my opinion has been very successful, although she did not win opposite "Eva Marciel" her career has been amazing! She's been in several movies, and popular tv series, and It doesn't get much better than playing Whitney Houston! She is also still incredibly beautiful, and humble!

Why does no one ever mention Eva being on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show. She does a great job on the radio! Also, the prize was not $100,000. It was a $100,000 modeling contract. It sounds like Adrienne misunderstood that.
@babydoll5052
@babydoll5052 2 жыл бұрын
Adrienne also sabotaged her own career from day 1, the video failed to mention how she first married the guy that played "Peter Brady" and was on that ridiculous reality show. It was said that she pissed off Tyra Banks for making herself look like a joke after the show, and down playing her modeling contract!
@KatKiddEnt
@KatKiddEnt 2 жыл бұрын
@@babydoll5052 some of these girls act like Tyra was supposed to hold their hands through their whole career and spoon feed them everything. She gave them the tools to go out there and create their own successful careers. Some of the girls did that. They took the bull by the horns and went out there and carved a path for themselves. Whereas, some of the other girls are trashing Tyra because they didn’t get things they wanted from her.
@kaitlynengelland2723
@kaitlynengelland2723 2 жыл бұрын
She still never got anything. No contract nothing. Because whoever was supposed to sign the contract backed out at the last minute because they thought this show would not be a hit and they were wrong. That's why season's later they had a bigger paycheck to use on the seasons of where to go their modeling places, hairstyles, prizes, challenges, makeup artist etc. The 1st season they were ghetto af with everything since they didnt even have the resources to do the elimination room. They rented out a conference room and put up a poster of Tyra And the last seasons they stayed in a warehouse for all the shoots since the show was dying out and production didnt give them alot of money for the show
@KatKiddEnt
@KatKiddEnt 2 жыл бұрын
@@kaitlynengelland2723 that’s good information. But, Adrienne did get something. Remember how the model who won the previous season would make an appearance on the next season to talk to and encourage the girls? She was on there talking about how great it was to be working as a model. They even showed some ads she had done. So, maybe they made up for it somehow. Plus, some of these girls were able to carve out complete careers for themselves. So, it still was up to them to make the best of what they received.

@@KatKiddEnt by the time C2 was filming, Curry would have still been riding the high of winning, probably still naive about "the checks in the mail we promise" type statements, and would happily have said what they told her to say.

Yup, that followed by Whitney winning = what tanked the show. In both instances, they were surrounded by models that were just insanely good. Their wins made it obvious that they were awarding the title to people they thought *wouldn’t* make it, with stories tyra banks could exploit.

the one thing that i learned from the watching the show is that the modeling industry is not what it seems. my mother herslef before she had me used to be an international model adn told me everything i needed to know about the modeling industry then vs now. the expectations from then are nothing compared to now. only thing majorly different is that plus sizes are accepted but body shaming is still out there.
