I work in Bethesda and I wish I had researched more before picking my career location. EVERYTHING is expensive. Food, gas, regular shopping, etc.

7:26 i remember being less than 2 minutes late after paying for 2 hours and they were about to give me a ticket. Luckily I was just in time.

If you think Bethesda is expensive food wise, you would cringe at the prices of Dulles airport.

Grew up near Bethesda. My sister summed up the experience with "my high school boasted some of the highest SAT scores and highest suicide rates." The pressure to be super successful financially to support such an expensive lifestyle is not always worth it.

I've come here from Silicon Valley (was in grad school there) and it feels like a slightly dialed down version of that. A bit less crowded. A bit less expensive. Not quite as suicide-y, lol.

real estate developers changed the name of Rockville just above the beltway into "North Bethesda" so they could charge insane monthly rents on their so called luxury developments. The real Bethesda is inside the beltway and it's even more expensive. Bethesda/Chevy Chase was the OG neighborhood of choice for the old school OSS crew that started up the CIA.

I was born at Suburban, in the mid 50s, spending my first years of school at Ashburton. Back then, our home fit perfectly on the lot, and as it was a corner lot, many games began in our yard, because the sidewalk began next door. I'm so glad I stopped there, in 1998, for the last time, as our 3 bedroom split-level, that fit perfectly has been replaced, by one of the ugliest 7 bedroom McMansions I've ever seen. I'm not sure what the builder was going for, but it's a sad day when beautiful hardwood oak flooring, stone steps, and fireplaces are torn up, in place of Pergo, and no grass. There were also no children playing anywhere.

Property taxes for the same house and lot size in Upper Marlboro vs Bethesda. 5k vs 9k If the extra 4k can get your kids into top colleges, then it's completely worthwhile. But if top colleges aren't the highest priority for your kids, just save your money and live in Upper Marlboro ❤

@@finleythegolden2909 a 500k house costs 1m in Bethesda. You can buy the 500k house plus the most expensive Tesla to self-drive you to your favorite DC area amenities and still save hundreds of thousands of dollars 💰🤑💰

Awesome place to raise a family if you’re a high income earner. $250k is the base minimum salary to live here. More money more space better schools….you will border Potomac, Cabin John, or Glen Echo…..north Bethesda/Rockville. Honestly, household income needs to be above $500k to live the life in this part of southern Moco. Chevy Chase..Kensington are awesome neighborhoods that border Bethesda as well. Zip codes matter here.

Property taxes for a new build, 20k. Utilities 10k Groceries for 8 people, 30k?? 10k for unlimited bus passes?? That's only 70k for 8 people. Under 10k needed annually per person if debt free ❤

Hi Caryn, I really enjoy your KZbin videos. However, I would have to disagree with you on one thing. I love the DC summers. 😊 The humidity is mild compared to Florida and other Southern states.

I was analysing your KZbin channel. You make nice videos on your channel, I really enjoyed it. I noticed one thing: according to your channel, your channel videos are not viewed and subscribed. You Need to optimise your channel and do video SEO to reach your target audience. Otherwise, if you upload videos to your channel throughout the year, none of your videos will get viral views. If your channel is optimised and if the videos are SEO then your channel will rank very fast and your channel will grow.

Hello Hello, I went to Tilden Middle School, Walter Johnson HS for few months before move so I basically grew up in that area and I literally worked at 2 Bethesda Metro Center building for few years, and went to multiple restaurants in and around there on weekly basis. I was there this weekend just to ride around on my little motorcycle. The thing is this, there is nothing that is worth the hassle. Go find yourself a nice quite land in the middle of the woods and build yourself a little house, find peace. I will sum it up in a very few words: To children, and coffee shop working age losers, its the best place to live, but to adults, its a shithole.
