I lived in portland during the 2020 riots and protests, and it was absolutely NOT blown out of proportion. I had to drive through antifa rioters when leaving the hospital, who had just came from burning a police station near my house and pouring paint on an elderly woman who tried to talk them into stopping what they were doing. I was scared for my life! Antifa had been stopping cars and attacking people throughout the city. Rioters were driving around my neighborhood harassing citizens, downtown was literally like a war zone with people getting beat up, 1 person got shot and killed, tear gas (until they wouldnt let the cops use that anymore). It was scary! Don't downplay it.

As a recent resident of Ridgefield, it is all accurate. Thank you for the quick history section🙂. We should always be thankful for the first nations that looked after the land for thousands of years.
@halbyrd_ Жыл бұрын
Thanks for confirming the accuracy! Sometimes the internet trolls come to try & scare people away lol. Agreed on the native lands! My husband & I laughed/scoffed at the Land Donation Claims! Like the lands were already taken.
@deaddocreallydeaddoc52444 ай бұрын
Haha.... what does "look after the land," mean? There were no conservation projects and no planned management, so what do you mean? Occupying is not "looking after." The casino has brought in crime. Your comment is Orwellian.

I have lived in Ridgefield for just about 3 years now. The growth is incredible. Be prepared for construction and a whole lot of it! The planners have done a great job at connecting developments, future trails and parks. See the Ridgefield city pages.

Lived there for 5 years. The casino brought money and vice into the area. My car was broken into twice, porch pirates took stuff from my house. My paid storage lot was robbed multiple times and the local police department knew me by name because of my police reporting of thefts! Ridgefield is very hilly depending on where your house is, westside hills, east of I-5 pretty flat till you get to the rivers. The Native American casinos down the road now, they built a great hotel and next is the stripe mall. Most of the drug users were from the south, Vancouver area that came north to plunder and rob….says the police. The schools? Okay….my taxes help put that brand new stadium in for the Raptors ball club, and Ridgefield rebuild there Jr and elementary schools because of it. I liked Ridgefield it was north of all the crap,from Vancouver and Portland. As time went on though, the cities came out to us and all the attention too (casino)! They were still building when I left, it gets old but, now I relocated to the south sound near Shelton. Quiet, peaceful, no traffic accept down the 101, which has always been notoriously accident prone. Ridgefield is growing outside of its cross town rival in Battleground! Those two towns are gonna fight for growth and development. May the best expansion win! I’m gone! Long gone!

I grew up in and lived in Portland my whole life and have seen all of the changes there mostly good until about 5 years ago when the DA decided to not prosecute a laundry list of crimes then the whole MOSTLY PEACEFUL PROTESTS happened which were NOT peaceful and nobody has been charged in most of the vandalism and assaults. I moved to Vancouver to get away from the TAX HELL that Oregon has become. This just popped up in my FB page so it was fun to watch. Really liked the bloopers :D

Ridgefield has been on the come up for a min, Costco going in soon area is about to take off with more housing. Downtown Ridgefield is small town vibes with some food trucks and a corner store. It’s the place to be in the next 10 years or so once businesses come in creating more jobs

You also have the Jefferson Davis Park nearby too named after former U.S. Secretary of War and later Confederate States of America President Jefferson Davis who was instrumental in the creation of roads to Fort Steilacoom in the state of Washington in the 1850's before it entered statehood several decades later.

While there are a ton of people moving into ridgefield and it's not the same, it is important to note that ridgefield is heavily built on the usage of drug addiction and inappropriate relations (inappropriate age gaps, minor attracted adults) maybe with the influx of people moving in, it will change drastically in the next few years. But it's still definitely there.
@gorillaboog10 ай бұрын
What? Can you elaborate? Like, is it so rampant that it’s noticeable like this?
