It would be great if someone could explain springs and shock tuning a bit more! There are a lot of youtube videos that just keep repeating fundamentals, but there are people like me that wanna get a solid foundation on the deeper stuff. Like why you would use a certain type of shock, how you tune or set up springs with shocks. how would you use a 3way adjustable versus the typical single way adjustable, etc etc

Realized I totally messed up and said the R stands for rim. It stands for Radial. My mind was on the wheel size...

R stands for wRong!

Bet you don't know what this means either 😂How can you call yourself a pro and leave this video online with this kind of mistake ? It discredit everything you say after that... fyi it's the internal structure of the tire that is radial.

This helped a lot with sim drifting on CarX as they had adhesion levels 90, 100 (default), 110 and 120 and I didn’t “fully” understand it. But now I’ve seen this example I get what that equates to; C, B, A and AA. Super helpful.

Yes please make a vid about tire pressure. My dumbass got some super wide wheels for my s13 stock ka24de😂 They look amazing but I’m not sure how high of a psi I should have my tires at to have them break loose easier.

Ok haha. Ya that’s going to cause some issues going wide with super low power but you can run like 50psi. See if that works

Question what do you usually put your dampening on your coilover to front to back... is the front stiff and the rear soft?
@HaugenRacing4 жыл бұрын
It really depends on spring rates. If they’re fairly close to correct then in theory yes that’s how you’d setup the dampening. Always start on extremes and then make large adjustments and test. This will help you learn what changes actually do.

@@HaugenRacing I have an sr20 hatch with an sr20 8k front 5k rear I run a 17x9 with a 215 in front and a 235 with a 17x9.75 in rear. I am full soft in rear and 10 clicks away from full stiff in front oh and no sway bars. Does it sound good brother
@HaugenRacing4 жыл бұрын
I’d bump up a couple from full soft but that’s always a good place to start. May want to run a little stiffer on the dampening in the rear since no sway bar. But go try it out!

I have some grippy tires on right now but could I run a pair of less grippy ones in the back just to have some fun drifting/donuts not necessarily going to fast. Just for some fun or should they’ve the same tires?

Also what is your opinion about running a higher profile on the front than the rear. I see some pro car setup like that. Iwas told that it help with tire flex if you have a higher profile up front which is a good thing.

Ya I’ve seen some do that too. I haven’t felt like I wanted it. Achilles 123s are my go to tires and they have unlimited grip honestly. It’s crazy

I personally never have and wouldn’t recommend that for drifting. Always run grippy tires up front and then add grip in the rear as you need it

@@HaugenRacing yea that's what i've always gone by. Luke Fink has said otherwise so I'm curious. Better for reverse entry's too apparently. You should try it sometime and see what your opinion on it is! He said he prefers semi slicks in the rear and normal radials up front.
