I just had a accident it was my fault. I was trying to go into the left lane didn’t see a car coming up and scratched her side. No one was hurt but I kept apologizing for it I never had a accident before. She said she called the police but they decided not to come cause it was on private property and no one was hurt. So we called the insurance company and now I’m scared that I have to pay a lot of money. It was a honest mistake I wasn’t texting or doing anything distracting and I just feel bad. I hope they will help get my car and the other girls car fixed 😢

Trust me, everyone goes through it, and most have significantly more damage that it seems occurred during yours. You're actually in a good situation given it sounds like the other driver is fairly cooperative. So, stay as calm as you possibly can and simply observe the process. You'll ultimately end up paying your deductible (assuming you are actually at fault, and reside in an at fault state) and if the damages exceed your deductible, your insurance company will pay the rest. The 'pain' could come in subsequent years if your carrier tries to increase your insurance rate. But given this is your first accident, if they do try to increase rates at renewal, make sure to lobby for accident forgiveness and/or rate relief given your driving record. If they don't oblige, make sure to market your business, as other carriers would be happy to have a driver that cares about getting in accidents. We obviously hope that you never get into another accident, but if you do - remember to not admit guilt/fault upon initial talks. Its not so much a case of you trying to 'get out' of responsibility, but a case of allowing the insurance companies, who are the experts, to determine who was at fault. There are several times a driver believes they were at fault for an accident, but due to a law they did not know about, the other driver was actually at fault; or both drivers share fault. In any event, try to keep your sentiment bottled up until a formal determination has been made by your insurance company. Best of luck!

I assume it was given for something you may have done that is 'technically' considered a violation in some way, shape of form, but in this instance you will not be fined/prosecuted in any way. If this is indeed the case, then that's great news as you get to walk away without any financial ramifications, or mental stress. If you provide details surrounding the warning, we can expound. Given the amount of adrenaline flowing when in the middle of an accident, many people forget to take pictures, video or document the scene. That said, if the police were involved, you may be able to get photos or a description of the scene/damage from the police report. You may also be able to obtain photos from the other driver (if one was involved). I'm sure you've probably already done this, but keep your insurance company involved. They are your advocate in this process and will help navigate you through it. They will let you know any documentation they may need and what alternatives/workarounds they may have in lieu of at-the-scene photos. Hello ITS PU, and thanks for the question. This essentially depends on the coverage you have on your policy. There's coverage typically called rental reimbursement coverage that is an added option to your basic auto insurance policy. It comes at an additional cost, but when you depend on your vehicle for your well-being, and its in the shop, it ends up coming in handy. This coverage reimburses you for your rental car expense while your car is being repaired (usually a per day max up to a total limit). I was in a car accident this past weekend. The amazon prime truck hit my vehicle on the driver side and all the front bumper completely was damaged and the side door was also damaged. When I called the police and they arrived at the seen. The officer asked me what happened and I explained to him I was just delivering some uber food and I was steering the wheels to the left getting ready to take off I barely stepped on the gas not even moving 5mph at the most 3mph the prime truck was speeding and hit me. Although I explained that to him I received the ticket because I supposedly didn’t yield the right of way. I have court next month and my question is Do I need to get an attorney to legally represent me? And yes I made the claim with my insurance once the officer gave me the incident number.

You should have no problem with the claim and getting your car back to working order, however, it seems your question above touches on another topic. Before jumping into our answer, given your question seems legal in nature, please still consult with a legal adviser as to what your chances of winning the trial will be and how you should move forward. That said, from an insurance perspective, we'd want to know a few things: what exactly is the court date for? who's the defendant/plaintiff? We assume the court case is to contest the ticket, but perhaps it isn't. Either way, legal representation is always advisable. That said, there are several factors to consider: what are the potential legal costs? if you win the case, what are the potential savings (including any future savings through negating rate increases due to the accident) and awards? Also, remember that your insurance company is your advocate, and happens to have a boatload of resources - including a legal team. Get their input regarding how they view the accident (are you at fault, what are your chances of winning the case, are they willing to help, etc). We hope that everything has been settled in as an amenable manner as possible. We know this is far after the fact, but would still like to opine regarding your question, just in case this happens again in the future (although we certainly are hoping you don't have to experience any more accidents). The car seat liability is a legal issue given its against the law to not have a baby properly secured in an approved car seat while driving. However, the deductible question is more clear cut. If you reside in a no-fault state, then both of your insurance companies will pay for the damage caused by the accident and you both will have to pay your deductibles, respectively. If you reside in an at-fault state, then the person at fault will certainly have to pay their deductible, and more than likely, will have to pay that of the party that was not at-fault as well. Once again, we are truly sorry for the late response, and hope that everyone involved has been made whole, and most of all, is ok.

WAY better to handle things between you and the other driver without the involvement of insurance companies, or police, rather than worrying if the other driver took down your license plate and the police are now searching for you in regards to a hit and run...
