I for one, always enjoy your videos ! Good tips ! One thing I have learned as stylist shears start to dull, often they will over tighten them hoping for better performance and use them that way for so long the tip gets worn more and Rideline distorts . I'm with you , I choose not to bend unless everyone knows it could not go well ! And a very last ditch effort.

This afternoon went to a barbershop to do a couple of shears. One had about 5 years of gunk on the inside of the blade. YUCK. Took out the WD40 and old sanding disk. Took about a minute on each blade to remove the gunk. Had to sharpen it 3 times just to get a consistent edge. Then yes I took out the hammer. The alignment was worse than the gunk. The other shear well lets say that if they could be made for under $1 for the bevel shear that would have been pricey. Took me 15 minutes just to get it where the front half of the blade would cut. I have to say I really hate having to manufacture shears. Yes both barbers were delighted. One just has to love the crap you get to see here in the field

@@stevepailet8258 agreed. The guy who trained me about 13 years ago said you can polish a turd, but it's still a turd. LoL but we must love the challenge sometimes right ?
@stevepailet82583 жыл бұрын
@@coopart1 yup there are challenges. and this was a turd for sure. Actually one was a Kai shear but badly abused. The other was new and the blade was stamped . Rolling wave is more like it. LOL

Bonnie…when I run into that problem, I would re-sharpen the edges and maybe calibrate down to a 38-40 degree angle, and with a 1200-1500 grit disc - usually works for me, but don’t overdo it!

Thanks Bonnie! PS: Men do wear makeup, we call it camo stick! And I would like to suggest that if you plan on bending them (or the handles), make sure you have a fast getaway car! LOL Seriously, this concerns me on every pair if the tips have problems. Thanks for easing my anxiety about it...

Sometimes I find that if the tension is to high. As little as one click that the shear can push and grab right at the tip.
@BonikaShears3 жыл бұрын
too high or too loose?
@stevepailet82583 жыл бұрын
@@BonikaShears to high. where it makes the tips kind of splay out. So the alignment is off
