What to do if your passport is stolen overseas

What happens if I enter a country with a passport that had a visa entry stamp that is required for exit. My passport is then stolen with the entry visa.

That's exactly what happened to me. You need to go to the immigration office, and get some special documentation from them

@@NanoBytesInc oh lord. So much paperwork. Thanks for the response dude. I was travelling in Cuba once and I lost the visa entry slip as I was in the airport to exit. Only for a cleaner noticing the commotion and asking if it was mine did it solve the problem. Always wondered what could have happened. Can you stop off in Ireland at some point during your travels ? Would love your take on my country. Its expensive for a local. Would love to see how you do one of those 100 dollar a day challenges 🤣🤣🤣

OK, I am actually surprised getting an appointment was so difficult, I mean, sure, the embassy doesn't work 24h/7, but I was convinced you can get in within a few hours on a regular workday. Perhaps I was wrong, or perhaps that was the situation pre-COVID, only applied to countries with large US embassies, or perhaps didn't apply to the US at all... It did happen to an Australian friend of mine in Poland, she called up and got everything done within 24h, but that was quite a few years back. However, once you had the meeting in the embassy I think you got your temporary passport within less than 24h, right?

Yep, I got my temp passport that day. But I couldn't go the first day, because it was a Lebanese holiday, I couldn't go the next day because thanksgiving

Try getting a new passport via a US embassy in Greece! There is one in Athens and Thessaloniki!

Don’t forget you can use scanner apps for documents and family can always assist in sending you documents you need. Then you could print said documents. Or if you’re somewhere long enough, maybe they can send official documents (if originals are needed) via mail to you!

Hey! that is exactly the same situation i was in. Yeah, you might have a *little* trouble getting in the embasy because the gaurds want you to have ID, but clearly that is not an option. You should be fine to get an emergency passport, yeah
