Dear Brothers and Sisters: I know once you got 221(g) that how much stressed you are going through during the waiting days. Let me explain you, my experience when I got 221(g). I have IR5 case and interview date was 29 Oct 2024 in Islamabad-Pakistan and got white Paper and officer returned my Passport also and only tick (Administration Processing) no other documents required. 7th Nov 2024 I got email about submit my Passport so 8th November I sent my Passport to via courier (ustraveldocs) located in my city. 12th Nov 2024 they change my date and status showing READY. 20th Nov 2024 date changed again then 04th Dec 2024 date changed again and status showing still READY. Now 8th Dec 2024 changed again and status showing ADMINISTRATIVE PROVESSING. Finally 9th Dec 2024 changed status to ISSUED and 12th Dec 2024 got my visa passport. In some cases you have to wait more and in some cases you have to wait less but in both situations you have to wait with the patience. Good luck to all who are stuck in 221(g).

Hi Rob, I attended my H1B visa interview on 22nd February, 2024 at US embassy in Accra. My passport was kept by the VO and i was made to pay the reciprocity fees. I was then given a white paper saying that my case has been put in administrative processing. On 26th of February, 2024 the embassy called me on phone to ask for my degree certificate number and student Id number. Since then, i haven't heard from them and anytime i check my status on the ceac platform, it says "refused ". In my case, how long is it gonna take for my visa to be approved? Thanks so much.

I think that this process, it's not fair. My wife it's an amazing Biologist and researcher. She got accepted in a Post Doctoral program in the Smithsonian Institute, and she is now under this administrative process. She sent all the information require, and she didn't receive any answer from more than 80 days!. She is very worried about it, because the deadline it's in January 2023. We don't know what else we can do!

How about this. I needed nonimmigrant B2 visa waiver of ineligibility. I went to interview with every possible document plus... But they simply said don't need them and everything looks fine. 221g form asked for information and documents which I provided at the same day. Received confirmation email the same day, few minutes later. Since that, hold yourself... 19 months my application is still stuck at AP. Any clue...?

The VO wrote admin review. Also i was aksed when am i flying back to my country. And i answerd 20th December. After that he said, we will let you know before that. I am really scared my case doesn't get hold up for long. I am in a third county US EMBASSY.

good afternoon, I faced an unclear situation for myself, I was interviewed in Frankfurt and the consul said that the visa for you and your family was approved, the passports will be issued in a week. After the past week, we did not receive a passport, and 10 days later we saw on the website the status that our case was under administrative inspection.The difficulty is that the email address specified in d160 has ceased to be valid and there is no access to it anymore.Perhaps the consulate requested any documents and we did not provide them. We wrote several letters to the consulate with different statuses to receive a response and they replied once that the case was being checked. How to find out what to do now, it seems that the matter is at a dead end, because we do not understand what exactly they want from us since the mail does not work and the one we wrote to the consulate did not ask for any additional information?

Hello so my interview was on 17 July in Mumbai for k1 immigrate visa so I didn’t took pcc police clearance certificate for interview my interview went well but in the end of interview I got white slip with 221g my visa consulate said your visa is refused due to pcc so I asked her it’s on hold she said your visa is legally is refused and I have read that if your visa consulate said your visa is refused that means your visa will stay refused for administrative processing so I am confused I mean on 221g paper said I have to submit my pcc and passport to be submitted at drop off location which I did but I am confused is my visa is rejected or they will consider it?? 5:42

Hi .. I have got 221g . I went for a drop box appointment . I went for my H1b renewal. I was in usa and came to india for my personal vacation. In my case nothing is changed either the location nor the employer or the client . I went for drop Box April 20 and got 221G on May 3rd asking for filled LCA. Hi Rob, I actually had my visa recently placed in 221g. I was already in the United States and got my H1B approved, I just wanted to go outside of the US to an embassy in order to get the H1B Visa stamp on my passport. I had the interview on March 22nd and everything went well, the interviewer even approved my visa on the spot and said everything looked good. It wasn't until the next day that I got an email stating that now my visa was placed on Administrative Processing and I needed to fill out the form DS-5535 which I submitted immediately. I am still waiting for it and I really need to return to my job. Any recommendations on what to do?

Hi, I am in a similar situation. My admission letter says that I will work as an RA as well. The officer told me that due to my the nature of my research they need to put my visa on administrative processing and they asked me to submit a research plan, my admission letter and a cv with a list of publications. It has been 60 days now since my interview. Another friend was also appointed an RA and was in the same situation, but she got her visa after 52 days.

Hey Rob thank you, it was indeed a great video. So I had my IR1 interview at US embassy mumbai. So in our scenario the Visa officer asked me 20 questions, my husband is in US since 21 years he moved there with his parents, Visa officer asked me what was your father in laws age when your husband moved to US. I was not aware as I never asked. I said I don't know I never asked. Visa officer said your husband didn't told you important information. And in the end he gave me 221g white slip. Slip says unfortunately they cannot give me Visa as my file is incomplete. Also the officer was kind enough, on asking he said we will be re- checking on whatever you said now. I am confused. Can you pls guide on this.

Ten days ago at my visa interview everything seemed to be going smoothly then at the end the visa officer asked if i had ever been arrested which i answered yes for dui & even in my application i mentioned it & that it was 20 years ago. Then she said that i had answered no to this question while at my medical assessment. To this i told her i have been truthful about this & dont remember i answered no to this question. So she gave me the 221g yellow slip to go back to the assessment center. I went back but they had not got any communication from the embassy. They tried calling & emailing but could not get a response but after afew days they called me & said the embassy people were going to communicate. Its now been 10 days but i havent heard from them. Is this a bad sign

I applied together with my wife and children for an F1 visa for myself and F2 visas for my wife and our two children in Colombia - South America. The interview was on August 1, and there I was told that my visa was approved, but for my wife and children, I was missing the children's birth certificates and our marriage certificate. I was given a 221g form with instructions to email the documents, which I sent on the same day. On August 5, I was informed via email that they had received the documents or had forwarded them to the officer in charge. Taking these things into account, when I check the status of their process, it still says "refused," even though I have already received my F1 visa. Do you think there is a chance that my wife and children will receive their visas before the start of classes on August 27?

Hello thank you for your videos they are really helpful. I had my interview yesterday and the consular said that the interview went well but my application was put on Administrative processing. She said that she didn’t know why which got me confused. All I saw was that there was a lot of typing during the interview after which she handed me the 221g form and told me to check my email from time to time. What could be the cause. I recently changed my I20 after filling the first ds160, then changes were made as I had changed my degree. I then filled another ds160. When I went to the interview I used the new details. Could that be the cause.

Hi Rob,thanks for the 221g refusal discussion. My son's case is very different the VO told that the Sevis fee which was paid is not updated in their website. Vo told that reschedule the visa appointment after paying. In this case how much time they will take for reschedule, only 20days is there to attend the college. It was happened 24/04/23 today.

You can reapply for visa interview anytime, so just do it as soon as you can after payment is cleared

My dependants had thier interview in home country in june 2024. 221g was given due to pre visa medical not done, which we did and submitted everything. We had our family immigration visa (F31) interview on 19th March 2024. The officer gave us a 221g slip and ticked some documents that she asked us to submit. She also ticked on the box which said to send passports via courier. After that our visa status showed refused. We submitted all the ticked documents on 15th April. Our case got updated on 23rd April but still showed refused. It got updated again on 25th April then on the 29th of April but still shows refused. Any idea why

However, it's been stuck for about a month now after sending a document acknowledging proof of domicile for my daughter who's the petitioner. Is it allowed to reapply for B1/B2 visa in a different city if administrative processing is ongoing? Details: I applied for B1/B2 visitor visa to visit my parents in USA. During interview I received a pink slip and officer asked me to send cv, source of funding and employer letter. I sent all docs on the next day. Since then, my application has been in 221g administrative processing for over 5 months. I regularly request status update and receive same reply, that my application remains subject to additional administrative processing. There is nothing in my application I could or would change. The only difference will be - how I interact with consular officer. During my first interview I was not prepared and just waited for questions. It might be the reason why I got refused. I would like to redo this and be more open and proactive during the interview.

Question. At the interview I was told I was approved and got a letter stating that I was gonna get everything back in 10 days. When I actually went to collect I got the administrative letter on the white piece of paper. Why would this be? It states that no further action is required and I should just be on standby to provide an updated picture and hold on to the same letter I got back. This case seems to be the odd one out and I’m hoping for some clarity because my letter requests that I don’t reach out before a three month period from my interview date elapses.

Hello sir, why does ceac shows the message that all your documents are received and approved and consular officer refuse the visa after the interview asking for additional financial documents? Also the officer didnot mention anything on what to do next? Should i wait to hear from them thru email/CEAC message or upload new financial documents right away in ceac for further processing? what does it mean by officer has adjudicated and refuse your visa? Its so much hassle that these officers doesnot explain anything at all. Also my refusal paper doesnot have administrative processing ticked and my passport and rest of the documents were given to me right after the interview. My visa class is IR5. Hi Rob, My brother’s case is stuck with 221g, sometime in May he had scheduled to drop off passport for visa , but he got a return passport and VO required him to have medical exam redone , because his medical about to expired , so after submitted the medical exam he received the email with link for scheduling ,he logged into reschedule , but there always the error message that the case number you have entered cannot be found . We did send email to IV inquiry , there no answer yet . We are so frustrated

Hi, I applied my J1 visa for postdoctoral researcher at US embassy, Tokyo on 25th January. But consular refused my visa for administrative process and he said i have to wait for 10 to 15 days and took my passport. But unfortunately still my application is under administrative process and my joining date was 1st march 2023 which is already passed. I don't know what should i do and how i can expedite the process 😢

Hi I got a 221(g) today and my visa officer told me that I need to update my i20 and that’s what she wrote on the letter she gave me just write “updated i20” what should I do as she hasn’t taken my passport but has given me that letter . I want do get out of it asap as I have my course starting this month
