We were denied an immigrant visa at the interview at the U.S. embassy in the F3 category because my grandfather (our sponsor) had passed away. We were then moved to the F4 category, and my paternal uncle became our sponsor. Thankfully, we were given another interview after 8 months in October 2024. Unfortunately, our CEAC account showed an “application error,” despite many attempts to resolve it and reporting the issue to both the embassy and the NVC, but to no avail. We were supposed to upload the DS-260 form there, but we couldn’t due to the online error. When we discussed this issue in an interview at the embassy, they said it was okay, and they would upload the documents and place our case into “administrative processing” following the second interview, without providing any explanation and told us you can acquire knowledge about your case after 2 months. 😢

Hello, I am USC and veteran, petitioning my mom's IR5 case, the case was DQ in July, with priority date in Aug. 2021. Tried to contact my congressman's office and I submit expedite request, just received reply from them: " THE CASE IS UNDER AP". Can I sue DOS?

Hi thank so much for your nice explanation, I’m an airline Captain born in Iran, working and living in Turkey, I got USCIS approved for my O-1, I did my interview on 30 July 2024 in Ankara , Turkey. I was told it’s AP, same day I got an email from embassy to send them my military exemption card, I sent and I asked how long will it take, no response came yet except that “your case is AP, we will update you”. 1-what should I do now? 2-How long is reasonable to wait before mandamus lawsuit? 3-How long after mandamus we will get the results? 4-How much does it cost total to file mandamus? 5-my job offer is from sky west charter SWC to fly for them as an airline Captain (an airline in USA), is it contradictory when I got my O-1 Extra ordinary ability and I will be working as an airline Captain?

I just found out my k1 visa was sent back to the NVC and then is going to the department of homeland security? I'm so confused. It says it could be revoked?! I have no idea what I'm supposed to do 😢

My wife and I were interviewed for an IR-5 Visa on 6th March 2024 at the Islamabad embassy, she got the visa and is now in the U.S, while I was given form 221-G, they require some more documents which I submitted in March, then July, and lately in August, now after 9 months, it is still in Administrative processing. No updates or replies from them. Any advice given your experience, on how long will take to decide my case. Thanks. SWALEH

Can you sue to get your passport back? I have applied for B1/B2 visa was approved at the interview. Got even the papers that say approved 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 (like seriously what the actual f) and then they emailed me 2 days later mentioning this administrative process. This was due likely to records disappearing (long story) that confused the consular officer (I am an ex green card holder). I no longer want the visa because visiting on a tourist trip isn’t worth this grief. I think I have the right to choose. I have told them this and asked for my passport back 3 times (I am flying to the UK soon to renew my IDP) and they just ignored it. They don’t wanna issue the visa (reason why I left the passport because well I was “approved” whatever that means now) but passport is still with them. I am very concerned to say the least

I received a message from NIV that Administrative processing on the application has been completed. pleaseDrop off my passport at Aramex office to be sent to U.S Embassy to send Doha for visa issuance and please help me how can I do thank..
