I would edit couple things--go to Christkindlmarket Friday lunch (Saturday will be way too crowded/wait) and go to Butch McGuire's (the quintessential Chicago Christmas bar) take the Red Line to Gold Coast instead of the fake pop-up bars in Wrigleyville. Butch McGuire's has been around for decades, has incredible decorations (including a train that goes around) and Christmas In Your Mouth shot (tastes like a Frango mint).

​@@CairaButtonYeah Butch McGuire's is a must. My great uncle actually lent (he was one of the top real estate tycoons in the city for decades) actually lent the money to Butch to open it in 1961 lol.

I haven't been in several years but eating under the Christmas tree in the Walnut Room at Marshall Field's .. uhm...Macy's, is a wonderful tradition. Actually, shopping at Marshall Field's on State Street during the holidays used to be a great experience, but, alas, Macy's is not Marshall Field's. I become wistful whenever I go there now.

Great Ideas. I know that you don’t have any kids but would like something’s for under 18 years old. Plus we have windy cold weather here but our outdoor spaces have like spot heaters and fireplaces anything like that there?

Yes. I have lived here for 30 years. The places she is suggesting, no problem. A bunch of other neighborhoods in Chicago are also perfectly fine solo. This is a tourist list/ def not a resident list. If this is your thing, go for it.
