was there two weeks ago and I'd say that my stay in Cambodia was truly awesome!!! I already missed that place and my cambodian guides who turned out to be friends.😢

I think the War Museum is a must see, I featured that in my budget travel show featuring Siem Reap. It is a good place to understand the difficult history of this country and problem with landmines.

Why does the NYT feel the need to give such a eurocentric view of so many places in SE Asia that are unique in their own right? In future 36 hours, I would like to see more in regards to the traditional culture of the city, rather than whitewashed nightlife that you can find anywhere.

Seriously, I agree wholeheartedly. This video shows a bunch of Europeans and the shops they own. Or stuff that the ugly American tourist would like. I mean, come one, we do not want to go halfway around the world to such an exotic place to be thrilled by miniature golf.

I love to visit this country, Cambodia is small country but a place to discover the long history of the ancient Khmer Empires, Home of the Kun Khmer Kick Boxing, a lot of details carving on the wall of the Temples of the Khmer Empires thousand of year ago. A very fascinating to see city of angkor the ancient Khmer Empires Build to Rule over Southeast Asia

In today’s episode of EXTREME GENTRIFICATION... -but really though, I hoping to see more local businesses not a bunch of expatriates who’ve appropriated the surrounding culture. Geez.
@xencutz7 жыл бұрын
yeah... none of these people have "appropriated" anything. All of the businesses interviewed for this are owned by people who are truly helpful to the community. Cambodia is a complicated country and the foreigner-owned businesses that give back to the locals are necessary. The NYT could have interviewed more Khmer business owners though.

Thank you for making such a good travel video of Siem Reap and some of the many activities to do here. On your next trip here I invite you to stay at Alis' House (a hostel) near all the best activities and very affordable. You can find Alis' House on Facebook while we are waiting for Booking.com and Agoda.com to process our listing. I love that you included the miniature golf! It is fun and most locals don't know about it.
