You absolutely have to travel, without ifs and buts, on the legendary "Diretto" train of the Locarno - Camedo narrow-gauge railway. It is strongly advised not to continue towards Domodossola as the tariff mileage is inconsiderately inflated, especially across the border. The real distance of only 53 km is charged for 143 km, taxed on the basis of SBB prices, also for what concerns the section in Italian territory!
