Eli Thank you, thank you, thank you, so much for providing these lessons. I am 60 years old and ever since I was a kid I always wanted to learn how to play the banjo. I was given one for my 21st birthday but made little progress as I was unable to find a teacher. Banjo teachers are a rarity in rurual Australia. Trying to learn from books was next to near impossible. I regretfully sold my banjo 20 years later thinking it was a lost cause. One year ago I came across your KZbin lessons and rushed out to buy a second hand banjo from a pawn shop. Practicing twice a day for 30 minutes at a time, it has taken me exactly one year to complete 30 Days of Banjo to a point where I can comfortbly play everything you have taught. I have loved every minute of the journey and have learnt so much. I am eager to keep learning more from your other lessons and resources. I have been a high school teacher for 30 years and can recognise the craft that you have put into educating others. You are an amazing teacher. Got my first banjo a little less than a month ago (I already play fingerstyle guitar so a bit of this was familiar) but this is the most amazing set of lessons for any instrument I've seen on youtube! I'm so happy it was so easy for me to find and I went through every lesson. Thank you for making this :)

An absolute genius at teaching! I have two degrees in psychology and teaching, so I know what I'm telling you. Been playing finger style guitar for 25 years, but the change to banjo was tough. Eli made it easy. So happy I found him!

I made it to the end!!! It took me...7 months. Hmm, reading these other comments it seems most people got through it a tad faster. I guess that means I need to upgrade my banjo. This was a great course. I've never played an instrument in my life and this course did not make me rage quit. To the contrary, the course made me love the banjo and love bluegrass. Eli, the way you arranged everything, from this playlist to the extras in each video, is one of the most helpful things I've seen! I come from guitar and other more rock-oriented instruments, so I could go fast through this. I also used banjoes in recordings, but in a very rudimentary way. It's taken me 5 days with this playlist to be able to just use the rolls. And got plenty material for the future THANKS to you. Greetings from Spain.

Made it to the end! It's been fun and the results have far exceeded my expectations. Eli, you're my hero! :-) Thank you!!! One thing I really appreciate is that the series pushed me to do stuff that I wouldn't dare to try otherwise or I would have given up after the first attempt. One last question or maybe just a comment. Tabs don't show which finger to use for fretting and in the last few lessons you mostly skipped that too. For the tune you teach it's possible to figure out which finger to use by carefully watching your video, but I'm wondering how to go about that later on, when learning to play something independently. Any suggestions? Or possibly a topic for one of your videos?

That is, I want to sing (ahahahaha) and acompain myself on the banjo. I already do on the guitar, but there are some songs that really stand out when you play the accompanient on the banjo (for instance, gospel, hymns and spirituals). Thank you so very much.
