Thanks Anthony for another wonderful update on Ars Memoriae 👌🏻👌🏻 I found this one a more practical than the last ones, yet still very informative as usual. I haven't used flashcards myself extensively but I'm looking forward to it now.
@AnthonyMetivierMMMКүн бұрын
Glad this one suits. Anything in particular that makes it more practical? (Everything I talk about seems practical to me, otherwise, I probably wouldn't mention it... and strangely, those other videos do better than this one likely will.)
@TheBigSavvyBossКүн бұрын
@@AnthonyMetivierMMM Hey Anthony Indeed, all the videos are practical. Actually what I meant for this one is that it was more tangible, mostly due to the fact that flash cards are "physical" items and not mental. For instance, I found great value in your video about image steaming and also the one with the guided memory meditation, but these ones are more "mental" compared to this one on flash cards. Nonetheless, all of the videos I went through are practical for sure. Btw, you already spoke about the Zettlekasten and the Leitner systems, but which one would you recommend starting with? And is it really either one or the other? Can't they be somehow combined so that we reap the best out of each approach?
@AnthonyMetivierMMMКүн бұрын
Thanks for expanding - now I see what you mean. To your question, I would suggest combining Leitner boxes with Zettelkasten for at least 90-days or so. You can do it mentally too, or outside of an actual box. But it really helps to get a feel for it by combining the two. I think my success with it over the years comes directly from having done the box version first.

I like the idea more then I use it to be honest I tend to spunge information and then when I need it it comes forward
@AnthonyMetivierMMM2 күн бұрын
Great if you're able to recall what you need when you need it. I usually have to go through the process I teach in order to make my own recall reliable. The good thing is that memory is not like a sponge. We don't have to squeeze out existing information in order to make room for the new. Instead, the connective field expands rhizomatically to connect and integrate new information.

What techniques would you recommend if I want to clearn coding/programming ? Alot of people say that memory and coding doesn't go hand in hand but I don't agree. Whats your take?
@AnthonyMetivierMMMКүн бұрын
Thanks for your post. Some coders use memory techniques and they use them very well. It's a question of what you choose to memorize and why. I have a full blog post about this topic if you want to search up Magnetic Memory Method and coding/programming. I probably won't make a video version.

Hi, I love your videos because I see you as a reference when it comes to memorization techniques, but I have ADHD and your videos tend to be very long... Do you have any tips or direct information on what to do and what not to do when creating memory palaces? I love using interior design photographs but I have a serious problem Involving the definition of spatial continuity between one photograph and another when they are very distinct... Also, do you have any tips on the best types of questions and answers to use on Flashcards for memorization purposes? I see that there are several types, from the usual to occlusives...

Thanks for your post. I have material for everything you're asking about. I suggest you go through everything thoroughly. Long videos do not prevent people from taking notes and going through small amounts at a time if that's what works best for them. I have all kinds of problems, but do not make it about the way things in the world happen to be. Instead, I focus on finding and using the workarounds.

Characters are indeed a challenge. One thing that can help is a solid round of studying the radicals and/or focusing on the difference between the sound and meaning components. The Pleco app with the Outlier Linguistics add-on is fantastic for that.

@AnthonyMetivierMMM using memory palaces has made motivation intrinsic for me. There's creativity/ play, it's easy and challenging enough at the same time! I mean the reward is also the process!

Funny enough an interestingly I just don’t feel comfortable learning with digital flash cards I tried a digital concept map app and there I didn’t have the same experience I just didn’t figured out yet how to memorise important details after memorising the main idea

Yeah, I find digital very difficult to memorize from overall.

Can you do a video on how to memorize all uefa champions league winners since 1955 to 2024 ?
@AnthonyMetivierMMM2 күн бұрын
Possibly. Why is this list needed and how specifically would it be useful?
@alawy32162 күн бұрын
@ I want a video about it because there’s too many teams win the tournament since 1955 , and also it will be fun for me to memorize all the winners because I love football , thanks for your reply❤️
@Jiok-cc9up2 күн бұрын
You can list the teams from 1-36 each team you have an index for each team like 1956- real Madrid like you place it in 11th index , I'am an Indian so I will do as it my native language so you can customise it yourself accordingly. So 1956 you need to just memorize 56 because you know when it started , it's not very old enough to memorize the century also, in result you get 56-11 . If you learn the phonetic system 1- t,d 2 - n 3- m 4 - r 5- l 6- g,j 7- k 8- f,v 9- p,b 0- s,z For now it's 56 for l and j sound Lay's imagine Lay's chip and 11- t and t Tati in hindi means potty imagine in Lay's chip there are dry potty chips and you it taste so bad. Make you first mnemonic as goes you can make it as per the year

Dropping 19 is generally a good idea, but there may be occasions where ti can be useful. Make sure you have an image for it.
