I'm a DJ and been spinning since 1984. I feel everything you mentioned and cosign 100%. Family events have become slightly challenging for me. You have older folks there that you don't want to offend with some of the music the younger folks want to hear. Yeah, there's clean versions, but Trap songs bring a whole different vibe. Also, I notice that younger folks don't really dance like back in the day. They mostly huddle and chant lyrics while ladies twerk. So it takes skill to read crowds and be professional these days! Brother this is why i say never judge a DJ on one gig etc. all the songs you played were fine i played a few of these this past weekend at my wedding gig and people went nuts, this just shows that there is nights where a crowd is willing to dance and others where their a lil less willing but that does not mean we have to slack anywhere and it shows in how you kept going on here. Take this on the chin and move on next one will be banging all the way.

Great Video. Funny how the same experience happened to me this weekend. Had a tough crowd hardly any dancing. Played all genre's and still nothing. My client did tipped me and really liked my performance. Makes a DJ feel like they suck when the floor is empty. 🤦‍♂️

I would consider this a success, you have 50% of people on the floor almost the whole time! Some people just wont dance, and it seemed this crowd was not a dancey crowd, or they only wamted to damce to exactly the songs they knew. I'm new to your channel, i gotta check out more!

Great video. Got to ask though, why don’t you set the movers to only aim in front and to the left and right of you? I see them shining behind you, and even in your eyes. First thing we do with the WMX1 is set the parameters for our movers so they aim everywhere except behind them.

Great vids! Even in my DJ’ing, I’ve noticed “regular” crowds may get Vegas Pool Party/Remix-Worn. Since Covid, Online Challenges, and Serato Stems, we DJs feel like every song needs to be remixed to not be boring, but common street folk are more familiar with boring and just want to hear what they know. Setting them up its night and day. Sound wise i still think that qsc is a little clearer but not by a huge amount. Sub sounds better in LD’s in my opinion.

Yes! It was a combo of the usb cable and uping the buffer latency within serato. 6 gigs later no hiccups

I've never used glow sticks and won't. The crowd was preoccupied shaking the sticks instead of their asses. Your music was good. Too bad. What I will do is switch genres go Shania see what they do or Celtic or cotton eyed joe Latin find something that gets then back. A good way to get rid of the sticks may be a slow dance?

Yeah, This looked like a rough one 😅. I hate to be that random person that talks negatively but the one suggestion I would recommend is stop with all the random remixes and mashups those kind of songs are going to absolutely kill your dance floor as you can see in this video. I know we DJs get tired of playing the same original crap over and over and over but that's what these clients want. They want that original crap that you hear at every wedding with the original sound. You can maybe do a quick edit in the beginning or towards the end of the song or an acapella in or out. But the whole song itself being remixed or mashed up is going to absolutely just kill your dance floor. And luckily you had a nice bride that kind of just went with the flow. Basically just put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself would you be dancing to these songs that are being played ? I've been following your work for a couple of years and I just wanted to see what you were up to lately and I was really surprised by this video. So I'm just guessing this was probably just a bad day at the office. But much respect for posting the video anyway💯
