Ladies, If any mother- inlaw tells you to come and wash her clothes on your first day of meeting her, pls wash the clothes with joy. Then when you take him to see your own parents, your mum should tell him to wash all the dirty dishes. He should also do the dishes with joy. After all we are all humble and respectful . I wonder how the guy will feel after washing those dishes..........maybe he will love her more ...👏👏 I will never ask my son's fiancee to do chores on the first day even if she volunteers. She is my guest and should be treated with respect the same way, I expect my son to be treated when he meets his inlaws. Men and women should be treated with equal respect. Discrimination against women is too much!!!! especially african women. As a mother, if you heard, that your son was asked to do the dishes by his inlaws how will you feel???? Let us all think about it. Thank you zeelicious for this topic. I will share it with my daughters and my sons ♥️♥️♥️

Thank you so much ma, I actually need to work on been shy and timid, have been postponing this meeting with my in-laws for awhile now, I'm so scared🥺, they are so much in their family Every part of this video is so educative and true For anyone saying its pretense, hmm abeg there are so many things I don't do at home, I don't wash my clothes, I don't really cook sef, I don't sweep, not that I don't know how to do all this but then it's my house, there's vacuum, washing machines, but your parents will understand, your in-laws won't, they will say you're spoilt So pls just give them that first impression the first time, as long as you not lieing to your partner, he knows everything about you already, is the in-laws that's meeting you for the first time They need to meet the best, well trained version of you.

Some useful tips. I would reconsider telling a lie to respectfully decline a request though. We should be careful not to dishonor God in an attempt to honour in laws or anyone really.

Winnie I follow your channel and agree with almost everything. But these two points? No. 1. Your university boyfriend had no business dating a 'flamboyant' person if being 'conservative' was that important to him and his family. I am sure there were 'conservative' girls he would have chosen, but he came to you. You could have toned it down a bit on the day of his brother's graduation, fine. But then going foward, in subsequent events, are you going to keep 'toning it down' basically suppressing who you are? People should date people they shares same values with please. 2. Why would your MIL ask you to do anything, something, e.g washing clothes the first day you visit??? Do YOU ask a guest to do stuff around your house? How is that totally not a red flag? What point would they be trying to prove? What 'test' are they 'testing'? You sure you wanna live like that? Would your father ask him to wash his car when he visits your home for the first time, or at any time? I know you mean well, and probably just saying one should apply wisdom overall, but some impressionable people take things literally. Any MIL that will ask you to partake in a chore on the first day does not respect you, and is likely a troublemaker. You giving excuses even makes it worse, really. If you are fine with that type of treatment, OK. But it is not a standard.

Thank you Winnie for these tips. They will definitely come handy when it’s time. I read through the comments and I see how a lot of women are reacting to if their MIL asks them to wash on their first visit. She only gave an example, that probably was the closest example she could reach. Mind you, your would-be MIL could ask you to perform a task (it could be anything) or even an errand, on your first visit. In fact, it could be as mundane as passing the remote control (or something multiple times)that is several miles away or even helping out with setting the table for lunch or dinner(depending on the occasion of visit) how then would you react? Think about it “/

Ur tips sounds funny nd kinda unexpected😂. in the sense that I didn't expect u would go all dip to dig the real important things out,, like wen u talked about inlaws being disrespectful, rude or insultive. I have actually seen that happened b4 from a distance nd ur tip for how 2 behave in such occasion is quite inspiring, kisses 2 u 4 dat zee💋💋. And every Oda tin u said Is really applicable nd cool, I love it. But plz zee,can u make a video on how to respond, react or behave wen on the phone. Bcuz yea we already know from this video what to or not do wen visiting for the first time. But then, some in-laws can be so forward that they feel it ok for them to talk 2 their children inlaws on phone, so I want 2 know wat u have in ur opinion about dat. Thanks ma💟🥰😘
