As a librarian, I was so happy to see libraries listed first! We really do offer so much. We offer things like art classes which means you get to try something new without needing to buy supplies. We also have activity kits that you can borrow, like crochet kits, or to keep, like paint night kits with recorded videos which make great family time or date nights! Your library card also gives you access to a ton of resources online, so you don't even have to leave the house if you don't want to. Last plug I'll make is if you don't see something you're interested in, from a book to a class, let your library know! We're here to serve our community and nothing is better than hearing requests directly from patrons.

The library in my old city was the most amazing place. I used it often, for the huge kids' play area, to the computer and study rooms. I miss that library

My city library has a few kids programs- arts and crafts, 4:00 Fun, story time and we have a theatre in the basement that looks just like a real one with a huge screen/seating although it's a bit old now it still works great. Adults can go to writers club, local author readings, a small art gallery and some classes like tech for seniors, budgeting/business, teen clubs,etc It's pretty amazing for a smaller city.

❤Jill someone else said for you to do makeup for events/weddings, parties, sororities at the university...etc since you have that talent. Most of us are leaning towards entrepreneurship and with your platform you have proof of ypur makeup looks and experience!❤❤❤ that also gets you out and meeting new folks at the event even if its short term could lead to long term besties!

The church I attended had a singles group That met once a week and everyone brought food for potluck and got to know each other. They offered so many activities for kids and adults. I loved that church, I also met a man there and we have been married for 33 years. So sometimes when we least expect it things happen. ❤

Love this video. I'm almost an empty nester now and trying to help one on my children financially since they moved out. So I want free things to do. I go on hikes, I go window shopping, I bought a pass for $5. To go skating for an entire year, I always work on decluttering and cleaning. It's hard at first to do things alone, and I still struggle with it, but I focus on enjoying the little things and taking pleasure is small things.

Yesss! Volunteering is Such a great way to spend time. You hit the nail on the head talking about all of the benefits of doing it. I always have a different outlook when I leave a volunteer shift. Thank you for the reminder, I need to do it more often. Church is a great way to get out there and be around people. I thought your plane watching idea was fantastic! I keep wanting to edit every time you mention something. Yessss I Need to just get out and exercise!

I learned how to crochet when i was in early 30's. Mom crocheted but i was a lefty..the thing is the yarn is an expense. Bible studies etc.👍 the watching planes land is a good one. In one town i lived in there was an air force base. Watched the guys touch and go. Where i am now the local aiport is a place a friend & i would sit and watch.❤

I love the get out and walk. Honestly that’s the best for my mental health! I feel amazing during and after! TBH its sometimes a daunting task but I splurged on a great pair of walking shoes and I just DO IT!

Jill l forgot to ask you how is Bella.I had a dog exactly like Bella her name was Jasmin. She was a red Weiner dog exactly like my Jasmin.She passed away last year.l had her for 15 years.l miss her so much when l see Bella l get happy and think of my little Jasmin.She was a rescue dog her owner was abusive and he broke her ribs .lt was a sad story but when she came to us She was happy for 15 years

Great tips! 🦋🦋 I think another great idea is to walk dogs at a local shelter- they are full alot these days and the workers would live the help not to mention give the dogs relief for a while. (And a great way to exercise). Also, you could go listen to free lectures at a college/university. Go to a high school play or sporting event and cheer them on.

I think some of these are great ideas and appreciate you sharing! May I suggest something? Leave out the stock footage. It comes across as disingenuous. Very distracting. You never used to do this before. Stay true to yourself and your own style.

This was so informative, also here in PA our libraries have free museum passes to a lot of different places, you can keep them out for a few days, great for the family, also I have volunteered at the library a few days a week for a few hours a day and I loved it, I would check books out and help people, great way to meet people as well!❤

🦋🦋 great ideas. My daughter and i love baseball and softball, when our budget was limited, we would go to some of the colleges in our area and watch games for free. If it cost, we would find the area's that we could watch for free. We loved it and we could take our own food and drinks that way as well.
