Get Fly Predators by Spalding Labs ( correct spelling), I saw Greg Judy is just now trying it. I used them at my barn for horses and chickens and boy did it work!!! It takes a little while, they auto ship the larvae during fly season, just look in to it!! Great video, love what y'all do!!!

Great video, Andrea. Sometimes animals (including domestic pets) can be very hard to treat for any malady. My experience deals mostly with dogs, not huge cows, but I do understand how difficult it can be. Since animals cannot talk (at least where we can understand them), it's doubly hard to know what's wrong. Then, knowing how to proceed with treatment -- well, you do a great job. God bless you and yours.

the dairy guys I have been watching in the around the world have been using high triple dose garlic in the mineral for their cattle - the flys stay off their faces - the flys are there but not landing on the cows

Many years ago, when we had beef cows, my grandfather rigged up something very much like that. A rope had flags hanging down with fly repellant on them and it worked. The things that cows need to keep them healthy!

I have had pinkeye in my goats and some of them lost their eye even though I was doctoring them twice a day. It is horrible. The vet told me to put some kind of powder in their eyes and it was caused from feeding them hay and they would bury their eyes and scratching their eyes. It was not the same as cattle, that it was caused by a virus so antibiotics would not work. Luckily they only had it for one year bad, only isolated cases after. I had been raising goats for a couple of years at that point.

2 of my goats keep taking turns getting it. I had to keep catching them and spaying them in the eyes with medication I bought from our local teactor supply. It worked, but catching my goats is not fun. They are not like other goats that just come to you. 😆😆🙄🙄

@@lillybarger7468 A friend of mine told me to put white port wine in their eyes and it did work. One of my goats hated it so bad that I had to cross tie her, throw her down and tie her legs, then sit on her with her fighting me. I tried it once without tying her legs, she came up, throwing me backwards!

@@starlenekalinski5633 lol. I tell you what. My little pigmys are terrible. They already knew I had the spray the second time so I had to sneak yo get one of them and pull her out by the back legs. It was terrible! I was rethinking why I bought goats that day. 😂😂

@@lillybarger7468 Lol, I have French Alpines and I call goats creatures of perdition because they get into so much trouble. They knocked my legs out from under me, I fell against a galvanized gate and broke a rib, I have been knocked down so many times that I don't go in with the bucks or the big pen to feed them anymore. I do love them though.

Years ago when we ran cattle, we used a golden seal root tea. We dissolved a few capsules of golden seal root in warm water then put it in a spray bottle and sprayed their eyes. It would be gone in a couple days.

The bad thing about most fly control products is that they are also detrimental to dung beetles. A good population of dung beetles will help control flies so I'm trying to get them re-established in my pastures. I've read that Ivomec de-wormer is the most detrimental to them.
