My chair stopped reclining, but all the lights worked even the head rest worked.So I flipped it over and saw that whom ever wired it together tied the lead wire to the motor, wired it to the moving part and the non moving part. After time it got tighter and tighter so finally it snapped. I stripped the wire and connected it back together. It works fine now.

My husband cannot use his right hand and most power recliners seem to come with the controls on the right. I have seen 5 pin switches with the cord. Do you think i can simply disconnect that connection and replace with a switch with a cord so he could use these? Appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks!
@RScottDuncan Жыл бұрын
I just got a power recliner without taking into account the length of the power cord. My recliner must sit in the middle of the room and the recliner cord is short by about 2 feet no matter what I do. The actual power adaptor on the chair says 100-240V - 50/60Hz, 1.6A at an output of 29V - 2A. There's a big tag on it that says do not use with a power strip or extension cord. Can I use a power strip or extension cord? Do I need a heavier-duty extension? Nice video and channel. Thanks for all your tips.

I have a Best power recliner. Every so often it just stops working, but the lights on the hand control are working fine. I've changed hand controls and power cord (which didn't help) and then changed them back. Also switched outlets which worked a couple times. What's left to check?
@furniturefair2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have a connection issue. Follow the step in 4:40, Check your connectors for the batteries or motors and look for any loose connections. Most likely it's a loose connection that needs to be reconnected. If not, it may be a defective wire or connector that needs to be replaced. If you can 't find a loose connection, you may want to contact the furniture manufacturer for more information.

I'm wondering if these are grounded properly as we've seen an increase of hardly any shocks from our old non-powered furniture to multiple shocks once receiving our new powered units (not from Furniture Fair, but other big box outlet).
@furniturefair2 жыл бұрын
That is an interesting idea. The shocks could be the result of static, (perhaps due to the type of upholstery) or also because of dryer air, (especially during the winter in colder climates) but I would hope it's not due to grounding issues. Contact your manufacturer or retailer if you are worried that it might be a safety issue. You can reduce the amount of static electricity in your home by keeping the indoor humidity levels above 35%. If you don't have one, consider getting a humidifier for your room. Another option is to avoid fabrics that create static when combined with your upholstery. Here's hoping it's not an electrical issue causing all the shocks.
@pennye61822 ай бұрын
Static can be reduced by rubbing the fabric with a dryer sheet (fabric softener sheet).

I lost the power cord for recliner when moving. How do I get a replacement cord? How do I know which one?
@furniturefair Жыл бұрын
Our best advice would be to either contact the store where you purchased the piece and find out if they can order a replacement chord, or find the manufacturer and contact them to find out if you can get a replacement that way. Many manufacturers use the same chord for multiple models, so they might know what model of chord you need. Hope this helps!

Hi Terry, sorry to hear about your predicament, check to see if your power recliner has a back-up battery that allows the user to return the seat to its original position in the event of a power shortage. Power recliners cannot be used manually as the motor is intended to do all of the moving.

Bottom line. Craftsmanship and product quality has gone to shit. I have this happened to me already twice with a love chair. Anything cost you an arm and a leg anymore and the quality is crap. You have to pay extra for some warranty which typically ends up not being a warranty and you keep on paying.
@furniturefair Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, craftsmanship and higher production quality do make furniture more expensive. If you are looking for the best price, you may have to sacrifice the product's longevity, and the best quality products are an investment. The craftsmanship and attention to detail required on best quality pieces require higher pricing to compensate for the finer materials and the quality of work from skilled laborers. While good and better quality may not last as long as the best quality, these quality levels help make furniture accessible to people who need furniture but also need to stick within a specific price range. While craftsmanship is still very much alive and well with brands like Stickley, Smith Brothers, Daniel's Amish, and MAVIN, the average consumer looking for a mix of affordable pricing and quality is more likely to need brands like Ashley that appeal to a broader range of budgets. You can learn more about the differences in quality here: furniturefair.net/blogs/lc/what-is-good-better-best
