Very helpful information. This is the exact question I had when I installed the doorway pull up bar and the bar is 6inches above my head and I ended up practicing L seat pull up ;) Thanks.

Brilliantly explained. I have a door pull up bar because of the lockdown and was wondering how the bent knee affects the exercise.

Personally I find doing pull-ups with our knees bended is more stable. Prevents from swinging to & fro.

For 2 months I’ve been doing with knees bent 😢. Thought it was the perfect way. Time to improve

Thanks for the vid. I've been getting a few clicks and clunks in the lower back (not painful) while doing pull-ups and I think it's because I'm arching my back and not tucking my tail bone.

My legs are stationary but they naturally go way forward on pull ups idk if this is cheating though.

John, what do you think about pulling chest-to-bar when doing pull-ups?

I'll create a video on this, Wayland. But the short answer is that I'm a fan of this variation (i.e. often called chest-to-bar pull-ups, sternum chin-ups, or perfect pull-ups) because it helps elicit a complete contraction of the lats. Just one more tool in the toolbox that is certainly worth using from time to time, depending on one's needs and goals.

Pull ups will improve your posture and thereby making you look a bit taller.
