As a Maltese person i suggest for an authentic maltese meal you should either go to nenu the artisian baker (Valletta) or diar il bniet (Dingli). As for authentic pastizzi the best ones can be found from crystal palace aka is serkin (Mdina). Rabbit, beef olives, baked macarooni, baked rice, octopus stew, the maltese ftira pizza, pastizzi... These are a few of the typical maltese dishes :)

Just back from a two week holiday in Malta (Spinola Bay) yesterday 😀, visited Valletta a few times, the architecture is beautiful, kennie tastes unusual, honey rings are like a very sweet fig biscuit. Walked out to Silema Bay and watched the sun rise and continued on out to Fort Moneol for a little look around. I also went out to pop eye village (were the pop eye film was made), swam at the blue lagoon , went on crazy Tonys 20min speed boat tour and visited Gozo and Mdina too. It really was a lovely place to spend a very long overdue holiday. I hope you enjoyed your stay as much as I did mine 👍✌

Yes, would definitely go back. I don't mind paying for food, if it's worth it...and it honestly was one of the most memorable tomatoes I've ever had, I think it's all about the soil, which appears quite unique in Malta. That said, I typically avoid dishes that look like this, Michelin, etc....BUT, I was really surprised at how incredible the entire meal was...with a few glasses of local wine, it was the perfect first night meal! More Malta on the way this Sunday!

Good review of my island, but some of the food you say is Maltese traditional food is not. The food at the harbour club is Italian. And the food at the food market like scewers and rice with corn is eastern Mediterranean food, definitely not maltese

So i have found out! but think about it, when someone comes to the USA and they pronounce "Washington" with an accent, I don't think I would criticize them for their accent or inability to pronounce the name....i get it, but just saying....the focus of the vlog is to show the beauty of the people, food and culture, and to inspire people to travel...I hope pronunciation is now what stands out lol
