One year on 5th April since my tkr. Minimal symptoms now but taken the best part of a year. Physically active and walking easily again. Definitely happy I went through with the procedure. Thanks for your videos that helped me through the process 🇿🇦

May 9th will be a year out. Knee still pops and feels weird but other than that I'm pretty much healed. I have to have other knee done. I'm glad I had first one done. Overall good experience.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I often hear this. The knee may not fully feel "normal" but oftentimes feels a lot better than before surgery. Best wishes with your second surgery!

4 months after I had knee replacement surgery I developed very bad back pain so I feel like I traded the knee pain for back pain ...would I have still had back pain if I didn't have knee replacement surgery? I don't know ---I'm just saying that's what happened to me. Knee is much better than it was before the surgery.😊

Maybe there's a connection. Think go back to P/T sure they will help you with exercises I find standing hands on hips stretching top half backwards & holding 5 secs doing 5 times or more helps if have sore lower bag. Lot of jobs women do around house have to bend forwards a lot so bending backwards maybe answer. Maybe need need new bed mattress ? Also consider an acupuncturist 1 of our Daughter's been to have treatment for back/shoulder pain & swears by it. Hope feel lots better soon. Massage/heat rubs & packs can help.

@@jangriffin-fi1yx I did go to rehab for my back and my back continued to ache. A surgeon told me that it is not uncommon for back problems to develop after knee surgery because of the realignment of the body. Thank you for the tip about bending backwards I will try that.

@@suzmillyp Think conective if haven't had that sort of pain before TKR & sounds like Surgeon knows as prob come across before. Anyway hope all settles soon & feel great. Bet you're pleased your knee good now surgery done, hope when mine's done 3 weeks time I'm saying this about mine too 😂 🙏 all the time as over limping around so tiring & limiting start to lose confidence & gets me down. I am actually looking forward to having it done. Did you have spinal block & can you tell me please how long procedure took? Did you stay in hospital 3 days, I am by myself at home but 1 or our Daughters going to keep eye/help if need but she has 2 kids. I want to be as independent as can so have started weeks ago doing some post op ones seen on Y/Tube 😃

@@jangriffin-fi1yx spinal block, maybe 1 1/2 hours I don't know because I was unconscious. 🙂 Was released the next afternoon, and it was rough that first week but it's been a year now and I am glad that I had it done good luck

It is not uncommon to sometimes develop pain in another area after surgery. This is due to a variety of reasons but mainly you are likely walking and moving differently after surgery so your body areas are experiencing different stresses with activity. A few recommendations are one just give it time and keep moving and active, your body will adapt with time and often the pain will subside with time. You can also reach out to your PT and receive back specific exercises and stretches. Sometimes we (healthcare providers) get tunnel vision and just focus on the knee and neglect treating the whole person. Best wishes to you!

My surgery was 10.10.22 and my knee feels heavy. Have stiffness and swelling. Bakers Cyst is also back and sfds to the pain

Sorry to hear this. If these are new symptoms and issues I recommend consulting with your surgeon. They can take an x-ray to make sure the replacement looks good and offer appropriate treatment and management strategies. Best wishes to you!

I was seven weeks after surgery when I fell and got three compression fractures in my back. Stopped my rehab that been going great. Was laid up and didn't go back to rehab for few weeks. I have pain in the knee nearly constantly, especially lying in bed or rising from sitting. Not much help from the surgeon. Very disappointed.

Very sorry to hear you had to go through this. Potentially, you could consult with a physical therapist to set you up with appropriate exercises and activities to do at this point in your journey, and/or seeking out a second opinion from an orthopedic surgeon.

Hi there will the folding pedals help with a broken patella?? Knee is repaired with a plate and screws
@KneeReplacementTherapists2 ай бұрын
In most instances the pedals can be a helpful post-op exercises for knee mobility and stiffness. Just make sure you are cleared by your surgeon and health providers team to perform this exercise as there are different precautions following a broken patella and surgical repair.

Hi Peterson I am Asiyah is here now my knees replacement is more than one year i have no pain no swelling but have some kerk kerk sound on my both knee but right knee has more than left please tell me what I will do to remve this sound.
@KneeReplacementTherapists2 ай бұрын
Hello, for some these sounds will persist and are often more annoying than harmful. Performing strengthening exercises, particularly for your quadricep muscles may help provide stability to the knees and reduce the noises. Some good exercises for this include body weight squats or sit to stands, step ups, side stepping, quad sets, seated knee extension.
