Long story short, in my experience. Workin floors a clean floor is a good floor. Collar clamps and wedding bands stay in the same area out the way with easy access. Keep your mud bucket and catch can close by during trips. Never be scared to learn. Follow the motor man when shit goes wrong. Go to the mud house and learn how to get a mud check. Best advice I can give is ask questions if you don’t know. No matter how stupid you think it could be. If it don’t look right it might not be right. And don’t EVER stand there and watch somebody work. Jump in and get hands on. Show them guys you wanna get in there and learn. Always have a good attitude and you’ll be good. It’s good money and them days off are glorious. Been doin it 2 years now just got moved to derricks. Gotta love getting high. Fftp. Be safe men

This is such great advice! And all so true always be picking up the hammer or broom if your hands are empty pick up a hammer wrench or broom and start using it to do something be useful, be helpful, learn and absorb like a sponge, be cleaning, be learning, be hardworking, stay hydrated and fed and have all the gear you need to stay comfortable. Don’t ever let a guy with seniority over you grab the hammer before you show fucking initiative. If you’re lazy these guys will sniff it out of you and run you into the ground until you quit. If that happens you have either the choice to quit or rise to the occasion and out work them.

I work with a third-party casing delivery company called Tenaris. I belong to a great group called Run Ready. We respond to rigs to deliver casing that’s pre-doped, pre-washed, laser measured at the mill and we use QR codes and URCs on the pipe to create tallies. We respond to all kinds of rigs. Chevron, Blackbrush, Lewis, Pioneer and deal with all types of company men, rig conditions, and regulations. The point is that there are sooooo many ways to join the oil fields without working on a rig floor. Just ensure you do your job to completion and to perfection. Any little small mistake can turn into a HUGE issue. Have integrity. Have confidence. Watch, look, and listen at all times to ensure safety and look out for your fellow man. I am one of only two females on my team but I have never faced any issues from the men I work along side with. Good luck to everyone getting into this line of work!

@jp_vids96312 жыл бұрын
The company I worked for provided company trucks where the operator would pick up all the workers then we'd drive to location. Only problem was that sometimes my crew didn't want to pick me up which was a pain in the ass. It kinda made me pissed that they did that. I can't speak for all companies but if it's a good company they'll most likely give you a company vehicle with a gas card. I think it's rare that they'll have you drive your own car unless they were reimbursing you.

Just be prepared to cold and miserable or hot depending on the time of year. Good boots are another one. Redwing pecos with the supersole. Your feet are going to hurt from standing for 12hrs a day its normal. Just embrace the suck. Your about to make more money than you've ever made in your life.

Good points! On the job I was required to wear FR overalls and they were hot as hell to wear in the summer. As for footwear I had insoles for my feet that helped a lot. And while at most times it does suck, sometimes the payout can be more great.

Where can I apply to work in the oil fields I have no exp coming from a network engineer internship
@JoeCliftonPerry28 күн бұрын
Thank you for this video. In short, my wife and I of 24 years recently separated and I lost everything as a result. Career included. I need to find an entry level job where overtime is basically uncapped and earning potential is high. I have heard working in an oil field can be this. Is this accurate? If so, how would I go about finding such jobs? Would companies hire a 48 year old with zero experience in the industry? Thanks so much for your help!

I'm trying to join the fields. I have no experience in it at all but I'll work all day. I have a family to take care of and right now things are getting rough. If anyone knows a entry-level position or a good company to apply with no experience let me know

What’s anyone’s take on a 30 yr old joining? I’m single with a child however hold a good co parenting relationship. I’m about done with automotive industry and I’m at the point where I’ll continue sacrificing myself for more money. Just want better stability for my family during this economy
