You cannot roll over the tax credit at the end of the year. It is very much a use it or lose it. It’s also important to note that “what you pay” is not necessarily “what you owe.” If your total tax liability is 7500 then you can take advantage of this non-refundable credit. Edit: a word

For the public charger, you went to fast charging installation (Level 3). The 4xe is not fast charging enabled. The battery is too small so is the onboard charger

Great video! One point to add is the 30% federal tax credit (up to $1000 tax credit) on an electrical charger product and/or install. So, for your $600 charger, you can get a $240 tax credit and an additional x amount on the install if you have someone professionally do it for you.

I'm leaning toward getting one of these because most of my driving consists of very short drives of 1 to 2 miles within the community I live in. Those short drives are really hard on an ICE. I got a red Jeep Wrangle Rubicon 4xe. The 4xe (since it’s a hybrid) has blue trim outlines and you can’t really see the blue trim as it’s the same color as his awesome blue wrangler. My first choice was this blue also. Instead, I went with Firecracker Red, and got the Rubicon. My rubicon letters on the hood have blue trim on the outside edges of each of the letters, and my jeep logos also have blue trim around the outside of them. I am very happy with my firecracker red!! A lot of my driving is also short distances around town, and to date, I’ve driven 601 miles on the original tank of gas. My average so far is 28 mpg, with 346 electric miles and 255 gas miles. I have 1/4 of a tank of gas left. I plan to use premium gas.

@@cindywilson3932 As it turned out I didn’t get a 4xe. Since I’m a retired employee of Chrysler I get an employee discount, but they have excluded this model from eligibility. The dealers near me wouldn’t honor the deal so I went in a different direction. Your Rubicon sounds great and I hope you enjoy it!

What I'm real wondering is about Cold start in winter....here in Quebec Canada winter night can go down to -40C how will my batteries be affected ? I'm guessing I'll lose charge faster but for the charging? guess charging station 220V will be a must ? because at 110V and 12-14hr charge time will be useless if it needs power to keep batteries temperature.

Not all dealers are raping customers for "market condition premiums". I'm in Canada and out of 10 dealers in range, 3 of them aren't marking it up. Just walk into a dealer and tell them you are ready to purchase, and that you are not paying a premium. If they come back with any answer other than "sure", turn around and walk out. Also highly consider an auto broker if you don't know the in-n-outs of the deal. It will save you thousands. They work for you, not the stealerships.

Hi Brandon, I saw your video trying to charge in a Tesla Destination Charger. Where you able to continue that testing? I ordered my Jeep 4XE and have a Tesla Charger at home and would like to purchase the adapter that converts Tesla to J1771 can you advise?

It works in my wife’s pacifica. But not in the jeep 4xe. Jeep has some kinda of Proprietary programming in this thing.

Ya know I have a 2012 dodge challenger 80k on the ODO, along with a 2014 Chrysler 300 both get 22 23 mpg. I've slowed down, and I mainly drive on the freeway, not a red light racer. These are the greatest cars on earth to me, reason both are paid off. These electrics are more than a pain in the @$$. This thing probably cost between 50 to 60k with a 1000.00 a month payment. Good luck if this thing brakes down especially finding a good mechanic. It's a trip to the dealership, they will be the only ones who can work on these vehicles. Also the national grid is old, and bigger cities are having brown outs. This country does not have the capability to charge all of these e cars once everyone starts driving them, good luck with that...
@sandra49542 жыл бұрын
That’s exactly my concern that the mechanics in the dealerships will not be so knowledgeable on fixing this type of vehicles and it will take constant trips to the dealership to fix issues. Also, there not being charging stations comparable with this vehicle.

What is the max amps of charge for the vehicle? Also, a hack, for those of use that have owned Chevy volt Gen 2, the level 1 charger that comes with the volt is actually rated at level 2, cheaper alternative.

Good job. Very informative. Learn a lot from your tube channel… I will stick with my diesel wrangler and gladiator. My neighbor who drives a Tesla was driving to Washington DC from Norfolk Va. ran into traffic on 95. Stuck in traffic for an hour run it he Air conditioning, then had to turn everything off. Ran out of power. Diesel towed truck had to tow them to aTesla charging station in Fredericksburg Va. HYBRID is a good choice. Maybe a 1 or 2 cylinder diesel with electric combo in the future.
