You cannot roll over the tax credit at the end of the year. It is very much a use it or lose it. It’s also important to note that “what you pay” is not necessarily “what you owe.” If your total tax liability is 7500 then you can take advantage of this non-refundable credit. Edit: a word

Wait does that mean we can't submit forbtheb 7500 credit during next years tax season if we brought the jeep this year? I'm new to vehicle tax credits, sorry for the elementary question

For the public charger, you went to fast charging installation (Level 3). The 4xe is not fast charging enabled. The battery is too small so is the onboard charger

Great video! One point to add is the 30% federal tax credit (up to $1000 tax credit) on an electrical charger product and/or install. So, for your $600 charger, you can get a $240 tax credit and an additional x amount on the install if you have someone professionally do it for you.

Check with your local utility provider for a rebate. I purchased the Juice Box 40A from my utility provider for $350 after instant rebate they provided. Also, they offered a $1,000 cash rebate for buying or leasing a PHEV, of which the 4xe qualifies. Love your videos Brandon; keep em coming!

I'm leaning toward getting one of these because most of my driving consists of very short drives of 1 to 2 miles within the community I live in. Those short drives are really hard on an ICE. Some people use golf carts to get around but I refuse to be seen in one of them! Thanks for the info, it's really helpful. I really like the blue color of yours so that will be my first choice! I got a red Jeep Wrangle Rubicon 4xe. The 4xe (since it’s a hybrid) has blue trim outlines and you can’t really see the blue trim as it’s the same color as his awesome blue wrangler. My first choice was this blue also. Instead, I went with Firecracker Red, and got the Rubicon. My rubicon letters on the hood have blue trim on the outside edges of each of the letters, and my jeep logos also have blue trim around the outside of them. I am very happy with my firecracker red!! A lot of my driving is also short distances around town, and to date, I’ve driven 601 miles on the original tank of gas. My average so far is 28 mpg, with 346 electric miles and 255 gas miles. I have 1/4 of a tank of gas left. I plan to use premium gas.

@@cindywilson3932 As it turned out I didn’t get a 4xe. Since I’m a retired employee of Chrysler I get an employee discount, but they have excluded this model from eligibility. Also I was interested in leasing and Jeep had a great lease offer on the Sahara 4xe, but dealer participation was required. The dealers near me wouldn’t honor the deal so I went in a different direction. Your Rubicon sounds great and I hope you enjoy it!

I bought a 2023 a few weeks ago. Wish I would have seen this but I still would have got it. I love this car. I only live 2.6 miles from work. I haven't used any gas all week. I would rather have a hybrid than full electric. Also if you lease, the $7500 comes off at the beginning or at least it the dealer I went to. This is the 3rd vehicle I have got from them. They have always been good to me. In the 2023, I don't have to press the max regen button every time I get in. It stays until I take it off.

you can't afford to pay the cost of gas for a 5 mile round trip? lol...The huge amount of mechanical complexity is what turns Wranglers into wallet drainers and makes them quite frankly very unreliable. I cannot imagine how unreliable five or ten years down the road will be these hybrids, and the upkeep costs will eat up any anticipated gas savings!

In Canada you can lease or buy and you get 8000$ rebate right off at the dealer depending on how many years you put the payments on , plus you get 600$ back in you install a charging station at home and 300$ back from your municipality . What I'm real wondering is about Cold start in winter....here in Quebec Canada winter night can go down to -40C how will my batteries be affected ? I'm guessing I'll lose charge faster but for the charging? guess charging station 220V will be a must ? because at 110V and 12-14hr charge time will be useless if it needs power to keep batteries temperature.

Not all dealers are raping customers for "market condition premiums". I'm in Canada and out of 10 dealers in range, 3 of them aren't marking it up. Just walk into a dealer and tell them you are ready to purchase, and that you are not paying a premium. If they come back with any answer other than "sure", turn around and walk out. Also highly consider an auto broker if you don't know the in-n-outs of the deal. It will save you thousands. They work for you, not the stealerships.

The standard is quickly becoming 40 miles. 2024 X5 50e gets 40. Rav4 prime gets 42. Escape phev gets 37. Outlander phev gets 38. XC60 gets 35. 21 miles is absolutely unacceptable, and believe me. This is not some kind of design choice Jeep made. Or some kind of compromise in order to improve something else. It is just lack of technology. Future wrangler 4 by e will get 35. Do not buy the current model.

hi Brandon, many thanks for all the informations! one thing is not perfectly clear for me is regarding the use of the car as an overlanding rig : is it possible to recharge the battery ,at least partly, to enjoy the electric ride on trails when you are in remote places for 2 weeks and you can't plug the car? how the recharge mode is acting without the pluging? is it possible or in the end are you driving a thermic car with 600 pounds heavier than the regular one?

Yes it is. The wiring is rated for 32 amps. If you could increase the voltage then it would be Posible. But none of the 4xe components are designed to with stand higher than 220 Volts.. 220 volts x 32 amps is 7000 watts multiple that 2.5 and guess what you get 17,500watts or 17.5 kw. Conveniently the exact same size as the 4xe battery.

Ya know I have a 2012 dodge challenger 80k on the ODO, along with a 2014 Chrysler 300 both get 22 23 mpg. I've slowed down, and I mainly drive on the freeway, not a red light racer. These are the greatest cars on earth to me, reason both are paid off. These electrics are more than a pain in the @$$. This thing probably cost between 50 to 60k with a 1000.00 a month payment. Good luck if this thing brakes down especially finding a good mechanic. It's a trip to the dealership, they will be the only ones who can work on these vehicles. Also the national grid is old, and bigger cities are having brown outs. This country does not have the capability to charge all of these e cars once everyone starts driving them, good luck with that...
