My first pregnancy I had horrendous HG. Sick all 9 months with total weight gain of 5 lbs on last month. First pregnancy sucked so bad for me I couldn't enjoy or make positive memories like bump pics, kicks, pregnancy milestones ect. I can't remember anything but puking and hospital stays and really treasured my labor and delivery experience because that was truly the only positive experience. I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant also with HG but was extremely grateful for my Dr's being on top of finding the right meds I really only suffered for a week with multiple hospital trips and medicine trial and errors. But once that was figured out I got to experience other pregnancy symptoms with fatigue being the next big one. I'm so grateful for an 'easier' 1st Trimester that I can't even complain about the fatigue cuz I'm so glad to feel it(if that makes sense). I'm so looking forward to my second Trimester.

Can you speak to the recent class action lawsuit against tylenol increasing the risk of autism/ADHD in children from women who used it during pregnancy?

I'm just picturing an OB as a patient during her prenantal appointment and what that must look like 🤣 like are you filling out your own chart? You already know what questions are coming and what to expect. I just imagine the OB being annoyed at the patient finishing their sentences.

Thank you both for this videos, I am 9w with my first, and I have been working as a certified Clinical Biochenistry Specialist for 10+ years now, specialising on genetic prenatal diagnosis. I was not prepared to be so unprepared when I became pregnant, and seeing your videos on your first pregnancy has helped me tons with my self-steem as a medical professional. So really, thanks a lot for the excellent videos and for sharing with us your experiences, I appreciate the high level of scientific content, really opposed to what I have been able to find in KZbin. I lost two babies in my life before this pregnancy and I feel like even though I'm 16 weeks (I just had to check) I have not taken any bump pictures and or I'm not keeping track like it would be my first. I kind of feel bad and like I should be doing more, but I think in the back of my mind it won't feel real until I have my baby in my arms.

Thank you for mentioning the Aspirin. I got prescribed 75mg Aspirin/day (living in the UK btw), to help prevent low birth weight for my second baby (my first had a birth weight on the lower end, although he's a healthy 4y old now + I had a miscarriage before before my rainbow baby). I have been searching for some information on Aspirin, to seek a second Doc's opinion if it's safe or not as I've been reading mixed information, so thank you!

I've noticed that you seem to be making an effort to use more gender neutral terminology (pregnant person as opposed to woman etc) and I really appreciate this. As a gender non-conforming pregnant person, I find it much easier to listen to people when they speak about pregnancy in these terms. Hearing woman-this and mama-that is a little jarring and uncomfortable when I'm trying to relate and apply the information to myself

Just found out I'm pregnant on Christmas and I'm somewhere in between 5w3d-5w6d and super anxious. I've had 3 losses before and I feel so overwhelmed with emotions but I'm still trying to enjoy this process. My question is does an anteverted uterus make pregnancy have any differences as baby develops than a normal uterus?
@sophiasouthern
@sophiasouthern Жыл бұрын
I will say I have a retroverted uterus and for me my doc said there are basically no differences! You may notice you’re smaller at first as the bump is not as visible but girl it’ll come don’t worry 😂 How are you doing? I know the anxiety can be intense!
@jazz3715
@jazz3715 Жыл бұрын
@Sophia Southern I know retroverted is the opposite of mine but I definitely feel like that could come in handy lol. I'm more nervous about the baby growing on my bladder. Since my uterus is already leaning on it. Lol guess time will tell also congrats as well. I'm only 6w5d so I think I have a little more time.

I can’t imagine going through that and worse (if I have a girl) with a toddler! It’s one of the things I’m most scared about for getting pregnant next

Oh no. I had a boy a year ago and my first child, I had all day sickness from day 1 to the day I gave birth could hardly keep down even water, each trimester had food I could keep down, first trimester I would only keep down potatoes and vegetables, second only Brad and cheese stayed down, and 3rd was only pasta stayed down. It was hell and I'm scared of getting pregnant again and my birthing expirence was not nice at all, as much as I know no pregnancy is the same, I still have the trauma and just partially recovering from post partum D

My nausea comes and goes - is that normal? Some days I'll be sick feeling all day, and the next day I'll be fine. Weeks 5-7, I was vomiting every other day or so. But I'm 8.5 weeks now - and there's been less vomiting. (I'm partly worried because I had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks in September - so very anxious this time around).

I had HG the entire 1st pregnancy, and currently have it this pregnancy. Medication helped me alot so far in both. Have you tried meds like Zophran, bonjesta, Reglan, or diclegis? Both of my pregnancies zophran stopped working or didn't work, diclegis I used my 1st one. And I take bonjesta and Reglan with this 2nd one. If you want to stay away from meds like those it's suggested to take vitamin B6 and unisom. Hopefully your OB can give u more advice. The positive side is that it almost always goes away during or after labor. For me I was nauseous 1 time during the pushing stage of labor and was completely fine after. I hope u find some relief and a safe delivery.

What is your intervals between two pregnancy? What will be the minimum of waiting? Just FYI, my first baby was delivered on my age 34 (3months ago). I want to wait a while for second one but worry about old age
@natp1877

How far along are you with your second one? 😊 I’m a couple of days away from my 30 week mark with my first - a boy also. Nausea / feeling queasy was a real thing all day between week 6-10 I would say, I took Bonjesta during that time to help since ginger etc didn’t do much. After that I was fine. Hated coffee and other strong smelling things for a while too during the first couple of weeks. Second trimester was awesome. Much more energy. Now third trimester everything is starting to get a little harder haha including working out and rolling over in bed 😂. I’d say from week 20 onward time really has been flying by.

I'm a bit confused too she said she took ritual and it was fine. but recommends folic acid. The CDC advised folic acid.I would go to the site and look.
@brittney1043
@brittney1043 Жыл бұрын
Also and I'm not a doctor but it is my understanding that if your have the mthfr gene that makes it difficult for your body to convert folic acid, then it's best to use methylated folate. But again you would have to be tested for that to know and that can be very expensive depending on your insurance. I know because I thought about getting that test just to be sure. My OBGYN said it's a very small percentage of women that have that. I was just as confused as you and decided to go with what the CDC advised and the fact that the folic acid is the only source that is proven right now to protect against natural tube defects. Again probably best to talk with your doctor.
