I'm restoring a 1970 Charger 500 that's currently getting body & paint done. Fortunately it's in pretty good shape otherwise, but I heard you mention a lot of useful tips and good advice that will really come in handy when I get the car back and reassemble everything. Thanks for the great video.

Thanks so much Mr Jennings! I really enjoy your channel and all the insight you provide from your many years of experience. I as well enjoy all makes but I mostly have mopars. Now I feel better educated on what to look for both with my current cars and future ones. Take care!

Just lovely to hear you talk about the personal experiences you have had when buying a car and going through it to inspect for issues. Would love to own one of these four wheeled works of automotive art but don't ever see that happening. Look forward to seeing your next video.

Thankfully, you have an understanding wife. My Last EX-Wife threw away all my documentation, including build sheets, every tag renewal from 1968, because...In her words..."You do not need all this $#*t!!!!!" I told her you just diminished the value of my 1968 Nova SS by thousands of dollars...and she laughed because "in her infinite wisdom" she said, "I did not!!!!!" She also threw away the "Original "Build Sheet" of my 1987 Monte Carlo SS" because in her infinite wisdom, it wasn't necessary and also scoffed that her doing that diminished the value of the car. Then there are the original window sheets she also discarded in her "infinite wisdom." "NOW" you know why she's an EX (even her daughter who I call our daughter even though I'm not her biological father and she calls me Dad, has severed ties with her). And, why I've chosen to remain single in my mid 70's .

Great information ,thanks . I saw a video a while back taken at the Essenhaus Cruise In last Sept. and there was the Vernon M. Ball car . I wish I had known you were there that night , as you were only about 5-6 miles from where the car had sat for all that time , but there was just too much to take in over too little time .

Very useful information on what to look for when purchasing any car. The video does bring back memories of my own experiences on working on some of the Mopar cars in the 70s. Hopefully your will kids maintains the collection of your Wing Cars well after you are gone.

Great insight! I'm guilty of letting my 65 Dodge Coronet convertible sit. Best I can do is give it a comfy garage to pass the time in!

To make your wing car Collection complete I highly recommend getting a viper ACR. I’ll tell you what I love the old-school cars just as much as you but this car is extremely special and I’ll tell you what as a super car you cannot go wrong the engine is bulletproof and as far as I’m concerned I’ll put it up against any car as far as being one of the greatest cars Dodge or Chrysler has ever built just saying love your collection love your videos

Bob, none of us older guys "LOOK and RUN" the way we did some 50+ years ago. We should NOT expect a 50+ yr old car to look and run the way it did when it was BRAND NEW. Everything takes maintenance.

The 6 pack on the first car must have been on dealer added option. The 6 packs weren't available on the winged cars.
@bobjennings7144
@bobjennings7144 Жыл бұрын
Actually, yes they were available on Superbirds (1970) but not on the Daytona (1969). Approximately 700 six-barrel Birds were made, I own 2 of them. You can tell if a Bird was built with a 6 barrel by the 5th character in the VIN. An "R" is a Hemi; a "U" is a 440-4 barrel; a "V" is a 440 six pack.

Whatever happened to the rusty winged cars near Daytona raceway?, or the white one the Arizona highway patrol used for high speed pursuits?. The winged car in two lane blacktop?.

I almost bought a 70 Challenger years ago. I fell in love the moment I saw this car. This car was a complete and total fraud. Had the RT emblems RT hood and had been repainted black.

Expect most of them to be pieces of crap that someone rebuilt. Look at all the totaled cars that shops are restoring. A car is only original once!!!!!!
