As painful as it sounds like it is for you, it's so wonderful to know that these kids are experiencing so much love and attachment. I imagine going into foster care is hard enough, if the adults are trying not to get attached it must be even worse :(

I can't believe how much Sawyer has grown! Def not a baby anymore. As a busy mom, where both my husband and I worked outside the home, I did not have the time or patience to make a bunch of different meals for dinner. I tried to plan meals around things everyone liked. If 4/5 of liked corn, the 1/5 would get the leftover peas or whatever. I couldn't be a shortorder cook. I tried my best to make things everyone could eat and it usually worked out.

Darcy will adjust to the kids being gone but may mention them for years. One of my foster families fostered an infant boy who left their home more than 5 years ago. Their 8 year old son still mentions him at times. Their older kids don't mention kids who have left very often but that son feels the connections deeply. I'm glad you are doing a grief and loss video, for two reasons. 1. Grief and loss is a part of foster care. It sucks and it's hard. It is often full of worry, anger, sadness and an emptiness thst is hard to explain. 2. It seems like that research is part of how you heal. If I am counting correctly this is your third placement, so you are still pretty new to this . A foster mom I work with has been fostering for 40 years. They adopted 1 child in that time so she knows they will always leave. She knew me before I worked for the county and my first professional visit she said the day they leave is often the best and the worst day for her. It is a weird dichotomy. Especially hard when you disagree with the outcome.

1. I really feel for you. I know how hard it has been for you as your emotions still come through clearly in the background. Hugs. 2. I love that you grant a wish if you do a sponsorship in your video!! ❤️ 3. I would love any advice from anyone about fostering with a little one (through international adoption) at home. I want to be very cautious of my daughter's feelings and previous trauma and keep thinking about fostering. I don't want to not do it, but keep thinking that waiting until my daughter is older and understands more would be better.

In Belgium, my experience so far has been that even meeting the Forster child is gradually, I see my foster son every week 1h, and we are building it up to hopefully have him stay with me 1night around Christmas.....that is why I have been shocked about how the kids were taken away in your case. God knows these 3 kids needed you, and maybe the time you had with them will be so much more meaningful to them than you will ever know.

I am happy to see you are doing videos. God Bless you both. My nephew and his wife had a baby from birth as a foster child for over 2 1/2 years and started the papers to adopt. The biological parents also had 4 other older children and never made any attempt to see their young child. My nephew and his wife made planed visits at various "spots" for their convenience and they were NO shows. It was NOT until the paperwork was started for adoption that the parents decided to stop the adoption. I remember how heart broken my family was and they did not have any other children. In time, the biological parents did have the child returned to them along with the other 4 children who were returning to the parents after being in foster care for over 3 years. It is sad but I just pray the biological parents have their life in order for the sake of the children. Thank you so much for your videos.

I meant to watch this last night, but I ended up going to bed and totally forgetting. Woke up this morning and remembered. Starting my day with Be The Village is a great start! You and John are the best team - making whatever situation you are dealt work. Still sending love as your hearts deal with this new normal and missing the kiddos who left. Hopefully you'll eventually find a new county and have more kids who need you in your home. (That sounds like I'm wanting kids to go into care. I'm not saying that. But if kids DO need a place to stay, I hope your home eventually becomes that place again.) Also still thinking of the kids who left and hoping they are well. Loved the Friends reference too.

Peppermint makes me happy :) They have hand soap, too...but I haven't tried it (not a fan of scents on hands).

I have only experience with having been granted custody of my 4 grandchildren a few years back, after they were placed in Foster by CPS. Sadly the case was not handled well, the children were together initially w/ the same Foster family, then one child ( with autism) was separated from his siblings and subsequently placed in 2 different foster homes, while the other 3 were placed in a 2 nd foster home. All this transpired in 27 days time. After the 27th day the children were united with me. During their time in foster , i believe there were only 2 phone calls to family from the foster families, and there were once wkly supervised visits w/ parents. I say that to say, to hear your compassion and adjustments over your foster kiddos reunification or alternate placement is a new concept. I had the impression that my grandchildren’s foster families were relieved when the children left, idk of course, and i have not asked the children about their experiences. What has be shared by the oldest is not pleasant. There were allegations made, and children removed, but to date, we never heard the outcome of the investigation. I hope if the allegations against the orig foster family were unsubstantiated that they still are fostering, regardless, the bottom line, as you consistently and honestly state it is all about what is best for the kiddos, as the foster experience is very tough on them, and as children, they are less emotionally able to manage these changes. I say that to say thank you both for being so diligent, caring and committed to the children who have been and may be in your care in days to come. You all are a blessing.

Do the agencies take single mom with significant health issues?
@amymenjivar34893 жыл бұрын
Check your local agencies! You have to have health forms when licensing and to re-license (how often depends on your agency). Doctor will have to sign off that you can physically and emotionally care for children. People with physical and mental health issues (treatment/meds etc) shouldn't be disqualified if they can care for the children.

Why did you delete almost all of your videos?
@ashleecollinsworth50393 жыл бұрын
Because the foster placement wanted them to basically and they got the foster kids taken away
@kelleythenurse32833 жыл бұрын
The agency they were working with said something on their channel violated a policy. During the investigation, they deleted everything in hopes that they could keep their status with the agency. The county or agency removed John and Whitney as foster parents anyways. They still have a foster license because it’s issued by the state so they may register with a different county agency since they were fostering with a different county from where they live anyways.
