OMG you know who Ralph Merkle is! (A nice guy, btw.) I know him since he was involved in Atomically-Precise Manufacturing groundwork and advocacy. I only found out about his illustrious crypto-legacy later! It seems to have taken the potential governance applications of the ledger idea to lure him away back to crypto. It is an exciting time!
