Association of Condominium Managers (ACMO) has created these 4 courses to provide the training
Introduction to Condominium Law
Financial planning for condominium property managers
Condo administration and human relations
Physical Building Management
which can lead to getting your Registered Condominium Manager (RCM)
The ACMO courses are a requirement for getting your general licence through the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario (CMRAO)
Ontario is Protecting Condominium Owners from bad property managers.

Thank you for this. In about a week from now I'll be starting that course at Humber. Interesting what you said about getting the General License. The course description implies that upon completion of the course, we can get the license. I don't recall it saying that you have to work for 2 years before you can get it.

Yes, I wish I knew about that before I signed up. If you already have the 2 years experience prior to the course, that counts.

I'm a building superintendent in a condominium buildings for 11 years, I want to start condominium Property Management course thru Ontario Learn, can I enroll on July,2nd Course Condo administration & human relations? Do I have to get login ACMO first or just simply log in ontario learn

I found the courses to be straight forward, with legal being the hardest one. Judging by how many people fail the exams, they must have attempted the exam without doing the course work. To pick a field, try completing this self assessment www.jobbank.gc.ca/quizhome

I’m finding the introduction to condominium law very hard and we have had only one online chat which was short and nothing was covered. Let’s hope in future chats there will be something taking place. I took only once years ago an online course with Mohawk the rest were at Seneca as currently I am in and it was with a very good teacher and we all participated.

When you manage just a unit,will you have the right to be call as a condo manager?

That would be property management, even if it was multiple units. For the experience to count as condo management it must be the entire condo.

@@palavoyz it's a start. A superintendent had the property management/operations experience. For condo management, the legal knowledge and financial reporting are needed as well.

I just found out that being a property manager was easy as cake before... but now since the government regulated it and make some rules like completing an acoma course is it a mandatory for me(a superitendent for 3yrs) who is starting to get in this kind of property management? What else do I need as I live in Ontario.

@@palavoyz After passing the 4 courses you will have completed the educational requirement. Then after working managing a condo for 2 years you can apply for the full credential.

Is a Condo Association required to share the association financials, taxes, rules and regulations, certificats etc. with Buyers?? OR potential buyers?

Yes, that's the estoppel certificate document which the condo manager prepares for the seller to provide to potential buyers. A certificate sounds like it would be a single sheet of paper but it's actually a comprehensive document.

i am studying introduction to condominium law. as a former legal secretary i didn't realize how hard this course is as its been so many years since i am back in school. any tips to share. I am taking the course online via Seneca College but it's run viva Mohawk on behalf of the association

That's how I did it as well. Read all the material before hand. Make notes of all your questions and participate in the weekly discussions. You get all your questions answered that way. Be sure that you assignments get submitted. I lost a lot of mark because that wasn't obvious. The website is poorly organized.

I own a condo now for the first time and I only lived in a house my entire life. My condo manager wants constantly access to my unit what are the regulations regarding that can I ask for services to be done according to my availability I feel like he wants control and I hate that

Hi Dayana, they should only enter your unit with permission. They should not have a key. Exceptions are made for emergency repairs to common elements, for example if water is pouring out of your unit they can enter to shut it off.
