My teacher just emailed me asking if I wanted to take APUSH. I said yes because my entire school career, I was pretty basic. I took normal classes. I know I am smart but I tend to stop pushing myself so I thought taking up the offer would be a good idea for myself and my future.

@@kenn2wierd963 It was a good class and fun. We had the best teacher for the subject and he was the bestie. Ofc I didn’t pass the College Board Exam 😭😭 I think only one person got the minimum score requirement to get the credit.

@Brandon Kim yea actually I finished with an A, but for the Ap exam I got a 3 which is decent. It definitely wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be though.

@Brandon Kim as long as you know the important concepts of every period, and know how to strongly write DBQs and etc, I think you’ll be fine. If you pay attention and engage in class, and take good notes it should go smoothly. But for the exam you don’t have to know every single detail, just make sure you know, and study the key events through the time periods. Also you can get an exam prep book which can give you sample test problems and you can watch review videos on KZbin. But really you shouldn’t stress that much, it won’t be hard if you keep up with your work. You got this, good luck!

@Brandon Kim No problem! And no you don’t have to memorize everything in the class, on the ap exam they have prompts that establish the time period or event they’re asking you about. But it will be a good idea to memorize specific events that have significant causes and effects, just so you’re more prepared.

@Brandon Kim like 30 minutes to an hour, and also my teacher hosted review sessions so that really helped.

My global teacher recommended me to honors us history, but I said that I wanted to take apush next year. Should I take it if I’m an ELL? Like I’m almost fluent, but not in terms of speaking (I’m an introvert, so I’m good at writing, reading, and listening) I did look at the textbook and it was not so bad in terms of the language. I actually did a quick research, and they said that there is a lot of reading (more than 15 pages a day) and you have to write essays about them. I now believe that honors can be a better match for me because there are more creative projects (I want to go on STEM but I talk about my personality rn). Anyways, So, should I take apush or not?

Hi, I'm taking apush this year and whenever we have tests on DBq's and LEQ's I keep on doing bad, do u have any tips?
@naturally81074 жыл бұрын
Im not sure if its because how I write it but I can show you my writing if u want?

The two biggest things I would recommend are asking your teacher to go over your DBQs and LEQs with you if possible (office hours, through google docs, any way helps) and familiarizing yourself with the rubric. It can be really helpful to have the rubric in front of you while you write practice essays so you can make sure you're doing what you need to do to get all of the points. Between the rubric and your teacher you will hopefully be able to figure out where you're losing points, and then you can work on getting those specific points
