will be hiking rinjani in a month, this is perfect thank you! did you see water sources along the way apart from the lake? considering buying a water filter to purify water instead of bringing extra bottles

That's great, I'm glad it helped! I don't remember seeing any running water or pools along the way when we hiked it. It was also very hot and dry when we did it back in July/August, so anything that may have had water previously was likely dried up at that time. But in a month that could be a different story if they are having rain regularly. I opted to bring the extra bottles instead of a purifier as a guarantee to have enough water in the event we didn't find anything and I was very glad I did. Bringing a purifier is a great lightweight idea in case you find some water along the way, but I would still bring at least 1 extra 1.5L bottle for each day of hiking, on the basis that your guide provides 3 litres per day. Hope this helps! Enjoy the hike, It's hard but so worth it!

@@expatescapeofficial cool, thanks for the insights. our guide provides 3L/day too and i haven't seen anyone talk about whether that's sufficient for this hike in particular until i came across your video! was a little concerned since the hike looks like it starts off super hot. appreciate this, and your content - enjoy your travels :)
