I feel like most jobs want to get a sense of your own individuality on top of seeing how well you can clean up for good first impressions, make yourself stand out in all the right ways. not blend too much in with everyone else being interviewed, fits with corporate too [to a degree, my uncle is a lawyer and one is a legal firm owner and they talk about what they like to see during interview processes] though women have many more options than men.

Very helpful thank you. I'm looking to get a creative job and have previously worked in different industries that expected different ways of dressing for interviews. What shoes do you recommend for creative professional interviews? I've had to throw out my old office shoes and I now don't own any formal shoes at all. I'm thinking some kind of black leather closed toe shoes that aren't trainers? I feel like heels might be over the top but I'm a bit out of the loop.
