Here we take a quick look at the tools we use to build our engines. Whether it's a stock V8 or a twin-turbo'd V10 - we have a tool to help us complete the job.

Picasso had paintbrushes, Ricky’s got his tools - both of them artists!

Nice one for a look through your tools. That valve spring installation tool is super trick. Having damaged a set of Wössner oil control rings building an engine I invested in a bore specific tapered compressor. Game changer; as you say and cheaper than another set of rings! I’m learning the hard way.

Ricky you are so correct in your philosophy of the way you do things. And cleanliness is next to Godliness is spot on for building ANY engine let alone the thoroughbreds you deal with! Fair play to you mate!

Thank you for the lovely words!

Do you use the goodson high pressure oil gallery cleaning system for prepping your blocks. It really makes block preparation much better than the old method. From goodson tools.

Your cameraman does what my dog does when I point. Focuses on my finger instead of looking what I'm pointing at.

Really love the tech series. One question though, do you remember where you bought your stainless benches from please? I only want a smallish one for building bike engines, but a quality one. Everything I bump into seems to be for catering and I imagine it'd be dented in no time. Cheers!

No I was gifted that steel bench in the workshop. Would love to get more! The ones in the engine room I built myself.

@@REPerformanceUK ahhh cool, great job. Maybe I should do the same. I presume it's just an appropriate gauge stainless folded over some marine ply or similar? I'm gonna binge some of these vids over Christmas, cheers, have a good one 👍🏻
