Taking the bus from Fez to Chefchaouen. If you visit Morocco, you are sure to visit other cities during your time there. Apart from private taxis (which is a real thing there), the bus is probably going to be your next best option... but even that is quite an experience in itself.

3:28 in countries like this? well "in countries like this" you can check the internet each company like CTM or supratour has a website ( which btw they're a local bus not a tourist bus i don't know where this local/tourist thing came from) there's all the informations in there you can book a day or two ahead or just by calling them.. I'm not hating on you i actually like you both but some of the comments you guys made through out your trip to Morocco are just annoying and so "American" carefull with you comments next time Good luck with the rest of your journey
@Axwelish
@Axwelish 6 жыл бұрын
See-Ham HF I was going to say the same thing, but luckily you did, I also like this couple but some of their comments are harsh and they show lack of information and ignorance, like the comment where they said the kids will be expecting tips for the help. They're just kids and in the Moroccan culture we treat kids with coins or candies for being helpful. We do not teach them to do that as they mentioned in a comment above.

Completely disagree with your comments. I find them rude & uncalled for. As for "in countries like this" they are referring to any countries unlike what they are accustomed to in the US, where everything is extremely convenient. Any other country not so much, lots of waiting around, non sense rules, dirty etc. Ignorant? absolutely NOT, if they were they could not make it in 1 country let alone dozens of countries they've visited! "being careful with her comments" First of all it's THEIR CHANNEL and they can run it as they please & use whatever comments they find helpful to describe their experiences. They have NEVER been disrespectful to any cultures or countries, NEVER made any derogatory comments! I have watched dozens of their videos & been following for many years, most of their subscribers have no issues with them whatsoever & feel happy they share their experiences as is. They give us tips & advise which help us along our traveling journeys.

Rubbish!!!! being in your channel does not allow you to give stupid comments about a certain culture or country and assume things in complete ignorance!. They commented that they knew for sure that the kids who helped them did so so they can paid!!. How did they come to that conclusion about very young kids?. I didn't see them pay them after all or the kids asking for money. if they did, they would have complained about it for a good 10 min!.

For CTM and STCR you can reserve/book your tickets online, the same is true for the train. You could also book your tickets ahead of time for local buses (and those companies? Thought I might let you know about that if you are still in Morocco. The train is cheaper than CTM and STCR is cheaper than both of them. For long distances, in the train, you could book couchettes. The cities I would recommend you see are: Tetouan, Tangier, and Assilah (Tetouan is a beautiful city that is chuck-full of history, Tangier is modern city with a great history, and Assilah is a nature haven). You could definitely visit Ifrane, Meknes, and Volubilis (Ifrane is dubbed the Switzerland of Morocco, different scenary and architecture plus it snows there. Meknes was home of major American Productions. Volubilis is what remains of the Roman era in Morocco and a sight to behold)

I've been in Morocco before and got lost but my I advice anyone who is visiting Morocco if ever getting lost , ask moroccan women for directions. Most tourist are scared to talk to women there , but actually women are nicer than men and very talkative and they would show you the place or tell you the price without expecting money from you .

Hey guys. I just wanted to share with you a couple of insights, after seeing some of your videos in Morocco . Although u seem to enjoy the Moroccan experience so far ,U are not getting by the -people asking for money / trying to sell things- notion. I totally understand that this could be very annoying and disruptive for any traveler , but I would like to put some things in perspective here : 1 - This has nothing to do with the fact of u being tourists . We Moroccans experience the same things every time we visit those touristic places. 2- Morocco - as u my have noticed - is still a third world country. Which means a high level of unemployment and illiteracy. People who come to you trying to sell u things or asking for money are just trying to sustain them selfs and feed their kids ( probably their parents and brothers to ). In the Moroccan culture, asking for money is seen as a shame, a disgrace that injures the honor of person. Giving That, u could figure out the situation of those people. 3 - you've been asking if it's normal that u have met so many sellers in the bus. The answer is yes. This usually the case when your taking a local bus. And we are actually used to it ( I think it's a kinda cool by the way if your ever wanted a last minute snack or a drink , and if u don't, they will just pass by). This our way as moroccan citizens to help each other out, and keep our economy operating :). How ever, if u did took the first Bus ( CTM company ) u wouldn't have been through this. Cause it's a more organized and modern company ( Morocco is a two tier country .. But that .. Is another subject) Once again, I can totally understand your feelings , I feel pretty much the same annoyance when i face those situations, but more in a compassion and "pity" way. Well, I hope u guys have plenty of good time , I hope u'll have a great experience in your world-tour travel, and if I ever could help with anything while you are in Morocco , please feel free to ask , I would be delighted to give u as much help as I can.
@WAYAWAYWithAsh

Thanks for the insights. If you watch our videos you'll know we've travelled to MANY different cultures and countries of varying economic status. Including 4 years of NGO work in areas far worse off than what we experienced in Morocco. That said, our videos are from the perspective of someone visiting a country for a short term visit. Usually to have a fun time and experience some local culture. From our experience, Morocco is far more aggravating to the average tourist than most places we've visited. We experience a lot of dishonesty and manipulation from most people we encountered on a daily basis. I understand that you may think this is normal, but from our experience around the world it is not normal and we don't really recommend Morocco as a travel destination. Some people consider this part of the adventure, and usually we would agree, but it became very annoying very quickly. My only regret is not filming more and showing our full experience.
@PTISSEM05
@PTISSEM05 6 жыл бұрын
WΔY ΔWΔY u made your point , and if your the problem is "manipulation and dishonesty" instead of "asking for money and selling things aggressively" which was the subject of my comment, I can't agree more with you. It's unfortunate that u came to the conclusion of not recommending Morocco as a travel destination. Because I do believe that there are people like this in every society ( I'm saying this based on my own experience after traveling to many countries my self). I do however appreciate your honesty, and it's always a good thing to have outside perspective of one's way of life. And actually I hope some of my compatriots are reading this conversation so they can question themselves since our economy relates a lot on tourism. I also hope that you would make a video about this subject ( an honest criticism about what made your experience in Morocco so unpleasant ) a would be the first one to promote it. Thanks again, and I wish you the best for the rest of your adventure - a very inspiring adventure.

For those planning a Moroccan vacation, if you have bus troubles, you can also take grand taxis from city to city within morocco. They are usually white and they wait for a full ride which is 6 people (stah). If you are traveling as a couple and dont want to wait for 4 more people for a full ride, you can pay more and ask how much for stah...we would pay around 20 Durham per person for small rides for close city travel but for a longer ride like fez to chefchaueon, you could pay around 600 Durham for a private van for the four hour drive. Keep in mind dollars to durhams are approximately 1 to 10. So 600 Durham around 60 usd.

5:44 the beggers and those who sell stuff are very normal in Morocco , they don't do that because you look like tourists , they just do it to moroccans as well and they're used to it

As a moroccan, i know that If someone in Morocco begs for money either ignore them or say no sharply
@Redd-Haired
@Redd-Haired 4 жыл бұрын
That's a big lie, we don't say No sharply, we say "Allah Ysahal Eilik" which means "May God make it easy for you" and if you say No sharply you would be the rudest Moroccan I've ever "met".

ok so the begging is weird i agree, those roads are so narrow HOLY CRAP! ooo the henna tattoos! did you see that a lot while traveling there? tell josh not to sing ignition LOL okay the soup looks questionable...lol whats with all these little children roaming everywhere!!!! omg!
@WAYAWAYWithAsh
@WAYAWAYWithAsh 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah being on a bus passing a truck on a one lane road aside a cliff is always an adventure. Jenna is one thing I wish we had done while there! Whaaat?! No Ignition throw back for you? And that soup was DELICIOUS! It's fava bean (farva bean?). And those kids are running around because it's their neighborhood! Haha. Just happens to be an old walled city.

There is SO much tourism in Morocco that they kinda rely on it. So it creates a very tenuous strain on tourists actually visiting.
