Ram is the only brand with farm bureau discount. I asked a ford dealer once and they acted like i was inferior because i mentioned "farm". Told the jackass dealer to go to hell. Dipshit assumed i was poor but i am an engineer making 110k. I just farm on weekends.

Totally agree! Most farmers in my area drive Dodge/Ram or Ford trucks. I believe it is due to front end problems with the heavy duty GM trucks. I know the washboard roads sure are hard on IFS suspension setups on any vehicle. I need alignments done on my 08’ Dodge Ram 1500 every 15,000 miles now that I drive washboard gravel roads daily. Heard the GM trucks love to eat ball joints driving washboard roads a lot.

@@deereman8237 Actually the opposite is true, being a fleet manager for an oil company, we've superior wear and durability out of the ifs GMs. It's not uncommon at all to have death wobble issues between 60 - 75000 miles.... stemming from the wash board dirt and lease roads, where they spend roughly 75% of their life. Don't forget Ram holds the all time world forced recall record due to their weak HD solid axle front ends. Not a GM fanboy, I have an 03 pre emission Cummins that I won't part with, but after 24 years as a fleet manger, some of my yearly expense charts can't be ignored.

They are called Draft Horses. They are mostly gentle giants but are enormously powerful. That was a Percheron my favourite favourite . The horses that pull the Budweiser Wagons are Clydesdales. Another nice breed. I am old enough to have heard stories about my dad raising Clydesdales at the end of the dirty 1930s . They were all raised to work in the fields at the front of equipment, plows, seeders etc. They were the tractors of the time for poorer farmers of the time. He was one of the last ones in that industry. Sorry, rambling a bit. Stay safe out there, Eh.

FIAT has turned that upside down on its head. These trucks are all bullshit and the only reason the 3500 still sells is that Cummins engine. Every last one of them has a weird quirk that the owners never disclose. Most of them probably have emissions problems or death wobble. Doesn't matter much what I say, you and every one of these ranchers will always buy the same truck.

@@markm0000 That holds true for most people though, nobody ever says anything bad about their particular brand of truck/vehicle. I see a lot of "Well my dad's coworker's nephew's neighbor's eldest daughter's dogwalker owned 13 Xs, 11 Ys, and they were all UNRELIABLE!! Until he FINALLY switched over to Z back in 2003 and never had any issues since" but you can always tell they're full of shit. @@donaldwilliamsjr4820 is it a dealership thing? I say that because there's a area in Florida that is dominated by rams and that's because it's pretty much the only dealer close. While the rest of the state with more variety of dealers will have fewer rams and far more ford's and chevy's. Around here we have them all within about forty miles and a Chevy dealer in this small town. Yet most are driving rams, ford's then chevy. And most chevy trucks around here aren't hauling anything.

My uncle is a farmer in Texas and a diehard Chevy 2500 V-8 guy. He's funny, neutral on Ram, can't stop making fun of Fords. I see a mix of everything diesel here in GA and I'm surprised at how many 6.0 Fords are running around, I'm guessing they've been bulletproofed. When I go home (NM) it's a mix of everything to include the occasional Tundra in 1/2 ton trucks. 3/4 and 1 ton are Ram and Ford 2 to 1 over the Chevy DM. Cummins really gets people in a Ram and brad loyalty puts the others in Fords and Chevy's.

I love this channel but I feel these real world videos with real owners are the best imo. I love hearing honest opinions from real owners. I live in Virginia and more and more I see in Hampton Roads are fords. Lots of different trucks here but Fords seem to be all over the place. I'm actually purchasing a F150 at the end of the year during the year end clearances. I work at the shipyard and all the fleet vehicles are f150s, f250s, f350s or the really old model rams. One of these rams in our fleet has over 300k on the odometer. One of the older Triton fords is in the 280s and these things are abused until they die. Every truck company makes good trucks, you just gotta maintain them well.

My neighbors still plow fields with the work horses, that big perch is a stud and would pull the plow all day. It is amazing to watch the horses want to work they have a harder time stopping them than getting them pulling. When they put the gear on them to pull heavy the horses dance around and are just excited when they get to the field and drop the plow in the horses just lunge into it. They have been bred to work for so many generations the horses look forward to it. My one neighbor tied his old mare to the outside loose when she was to old to work but she would keep the younger ones in place and wanted to be there.

Yeah ram product is more prevalent but every Ram pictured has a Ford in the background so it’s pretty much Dodge and Ford. Chevy and GMC are less popular it would appear. And diesel is far more popular because of the greater fuel economy and quite interior while towing. Gas engines towing are always struggling and at much higher RPM which makes noise like no other. But I assume that their work trucks are gas because they start up reliably in the winter and are cheaper to work on. Their diesels are pavement princes with trailers in tow. It makes sense why they have low mileage.

In construction mainly fleet vehicles Chevy completely owns it. From excavation to concrete to landscaping nothing but Chevy 1500 and 2500 gas trucks.

Make sense Dodge and Ram were the first to offer 4x4 trucks. When Ford and Chevy finally offered it they used Chrysler owned New Process transfer cases and transmissions.

I'm amazed at how far Dodge has come as an acceptable vendor of lite trucks. When I was growing up everything was Chevrolet (occasionally Ford) when it came to trucks. Dodge was at the bottom of the totem pole.

RAM is the only company to throw a 10k discount just for walking up to the dealership. In this 100k truck world we’re living in, RAM seems to be the only real option.

I always see Heavy duty RAM trucks working and towing the most. I barley ever see any heavy duty GM trucks or Heavy duty Fords driving around. there all mostly 1500’s and mostly construction workers drive them here in Ca, but RAM has the country and horse people market wrapped around their finger.

I’d think an inline six would be the best diesel. Therefore Cummins. But the newer one, oh me, don’t know. All the mess they put on them. I wish Ford and GM would make in-line six diesels for 3/4 ton and up.
@bryanmartinez6600
@bryanmartinez6600 5 жыл бұрын
Well it's seems GM did something right with the new i6 in the half ton. Yeah the new Cummins don't seem as great mainly because the weakness is all the emissions equipment and electronics other than that mechanically they are still strong.

Definitely up here in FoCo Ram is the most popular that I see and drive myself followed up by Ford. Now back home in Ky it would be a tie between Chevrolet and Ford only serious haulers or fanboys buy the Ram Cummins. You can't beat the Cummins fuel economy when hauling and their know for going the distance, just the rest of the truck falls apart usually.
