Totally agree! Most farmers in my area drive Dodge/Ram or Ford trucks. I believe it is due to front end problems with the heavy duty GM trucks. I know the washboard roads sure are hard on IFS suspension setups on any vehicle. I need alignments done on my 08’ Dodge Ram 1500 every 15,000 miles now that I drive washboard gravel roads daily. Heard the GM trucks love to eat ball joints driving washboard roads a lot.

@@deereman8237 Actually the opposite is true, being a fleet manager for an oil company, we've superior wear and durability out of the ifs GMs. It's not uncommon at all to have death wobble issues between 60 - 75000 miles.... stemming from the wash board dirt and lease roads, where they spend roughly 75% of their life. I live in Virginia and more and more I see in Hampton Roads are fords. Lots of different trucks here but Fords seem to be all over the place. I'm actually purchasing a F150 at the end of the year during the year end clearances. I work at the shipyard and all the fleet vehicles are f150s, f250s, f350s or the really old model rams. One of these rams in our fleet has over 300k on the odometer. One of the older Triton fords is in the 280s and these things are abused until they die. Every truck company makes good trucks, you just gotta maintain them well.

My neighbors still plow fields with the work horses, that big perch is a stud and would pull the plow all day. It is amazing to watch the horses want to work they have a harder time stopping them than getting them pulling. When they put the gear on them to pull heavy the horses dance around and are just excited when they get to the field and drop the plow in the horses just lunge into it. They have been bred to work for so many generations the horses look forward to it. My one neighbor tied his old mare to the outside loose when she was to old to work but she would keep the younger ones in place and wanted to be there.

Yeah ram product is more prevalent but every Ram pictured has a Ford in the background so it’s pretty much Dodge and Ford. Chevy and GMC are less popular it would appear. And diesel is far more popular because of the greater fuel economy and quite interior while towing. Gas engines towing are always struggling and at much higher RPM which makes noise like no other. But I assume that their work trucks are gas because they start up reliably in the winter and are cheaper to work on. Their diesels are pavement princes with trailers in tow. It makes sense why they have low mileage.

@@JohnDoe-nz6bk Issues with what exactly? Around here I can get a lifetime warranty on it as long as I own it, same with my challenger scatpack.

I’d think an inline six would be the best diesel. Therefore Cummins. But the newer one, oh me, don’t know. All the mess they put on them. I wish Ford and GM would make in-line six diesels for 3/4 ton and up.

Well it's seems GM did something right with the new i6 in the half ton. Yeah the new Cummins don't seem as great mainly because the weakness is all the emissions equipment and electronics other than that mechanically they are still strong.

I think a DRW Cummings might be overkill for a 24 ft TT.

This is just a theory... but I think people who really use there trucks for work and fleet use get whatever seems like the best deal in a lot of cases.

Definitely up here in FoCo Ram is the most popular that I see and drive myself followed up by Ford. Now back home in Ky it would be a tie between Chevrolet and Ford only serious haulers or fanboys buy the Ram Cummins. You can't beat the Cummins fuel economy when hauling and their know for going the distance, just the rest of the truck falls apart usually.

I’m from Texas. And all I see is Ram with Cummins engines hauling.
