I see cultural differences here again. In Europe today you are sometimes attacked badly as a man if you look at a woman. This is why some men immediately look away when the woman returns eye contact. But just because the man looks away when you look at him doesn't mean he's not interested. He just doesn't feel like stress because he's so used to it back home. In Colombia I experienced the exact opposite. Eye contact is encouraged there. Many women there see it as a compliment when a man stares at them. If you do that in Europe they will sue you for sexual harassment. In Colombia they think that if men don't like it, they won't look. So when a man looks, it's a kind of compliment that you're attractive.

I would definitely misinterpret the sign of the girl moving her hair behind her ear. I attended a singles' party at a church, and every time I'd start to talk to a girl, she would do that hair-ear move, and a couple of seconds later, one of her friends would rush over and pull her away. That happened a few times. It was a silent call for help, saying, "Get me away from this ugly guy!" All I had to do was say hello, and the signal was sent. So I take that move as a sign that a girl wants nothing to do with me.

You're missing her other non-verbal cues if she is uncomfortable. It's very important if you approach a woman who doesn't know you to either be very attractive or be able to set her at ease. If you are not a tall attractive man you need to compensate, be well dressed, polo or button up shirt well pressed no wrinkles or creases, nice jeans with no holes or stains relaxed fit but not baggy. Get some rounded toe boots or shoes that look clean and polished if they're leather. Make sure you brush your teeth, floss, use mouth wash. Get a subtle cologne, I use Raw chemistry and 3 squirts at most, front and back and one on the neck. Be well shaved, if you have a beard it needs to be well trimmed and 3/4' at most, making sure your jaw looks straight, if scraggly then smooth shave. Hair needs to be kept, fresh haircut, use coconut oil instead of gel, find a style that suits your face. Your approach needs to be casual and light, and if you are not good at talking then go to Amazon make up a list and start putting mens clothes on the list, choose various colors and styles. Then find a nice girl and say "Hi, I noticed you're really good at putting together your outfit. I am so clueless about it, would you be willing to take a second and look at some outfits I was considering and tell me what you think would look best on me?" After she helps you out say "by the way what was your name? xxxxxx Nice to meet you I'm Jim". It's that simple. Women are agreeable by nature, and if you compliment her she will like that and be at ease, plus when you ask for help you are appealing to her feminine nature. Plus women love to look at outfits and you're offering yourself to be a doll for her to dress up. Then next week show up in an outfit she picked out that you also like, and when she sees you she will notice you listened to her. Then just a casual wave, point to your outfit and nod with a soft smile. Now you have established a rapport. You can approach her even if she is with friends and say "Hey xxxxx, I really appreciate your advice, I feel really comfortable and have gotten compliments on my clothes. If you ever need help with something I would be glad to return the favor." Don't linger, don't stare, just smile and walk away. Is it that easy if you're not confident? Nope, not at all. But the more you practice the better you will get at it. If you are fat or really skinny going to the gym will help work on your physique. This is an attractive physical feature to women even if they say it isn't. Women lie because they don't understand themselves. A fit man gives a woman assurance that you have self discipline, the same with a guy who looks clean and put together. There are a ton of ways to chit chat with women, and the best is to ask questions. If a woman does not talk freely about a subject that may be a cue that she's not feeling comfortable with you. Trying to force a woman to talk is worse than cutting it short and walking off. A simple "Sorry I didn't realize you were in a bad mood, if you want to vent I am willing to listen otherwise I'll get out of here so you can process it", then get up and start walking away let her be the one to tell you to stop or maybe she won't. There are too many possible ways a conversation can go. Last and most important piece of advice, men will think about something and when it seems the most practical and best way we will feel good about it or if we can't figure out a good solution we will feel bad. Women are the opposite, they will feel a way then think about what made them feel that way until they determine the cause. So if a woman tells you she feels good about something all of her thoughts will justify that feeling, but a man will feel good when he's found the solution to a problem. Men and women work backwards. We start at the root cause and look for a solution to not feel a way, and women ignore the solution and focus on why everything caused her to feel a way. Both ways are valid. Listening to a woman is the solution she needs to fix her problem, trying to give her a solution does not it puts her further from her processing her emotions. In fact, when she is sharing an event where she has an emotion and you see how it bothers her saying "oh that would bother me too" is major bonus points. Women want to be heard, men want to fix. Saying things that show you "hear" her(relate or empathize) will make her feel validated and safe in your presence. There's soooooo much more than this, but knowing this vs showing this is the part where knowledge becomes experience. You got this Jimmy!
