for non-native speakers of English the challenge could get much worse, especially when it comes to descriptive sciences like social sciences. We have great cultural distance with the Anglophones and westerners in general, which is rather a gap in common sense of the whole society. For us knowing our audience, i.e. reviewers of world class journals, is an unfathomable task. Maybe that's why most of us resort to borderline plagiarism, that is to take an already written peace of writing that is either close to our own problem area or even the paper that we want to replicate. Authors would sometimes paraphrase and use thesaurus to change the words without changing the meaning (which is self defeating anyway). There are many writing coaches and programs here as well, but most focus on tactics and tricks rather than the real thinking and learning processes. This video is very helpful in this regard and if one has to teach writing to non-native speakers of English it can serve as a basic framework to build upon.

👍 A thoughtful approach to teaching/ learning academic writing. Helps to dispel/ unlearn several (mistaken) beliefs which novice researchers tend to develop about academic writing and publishing.

well you are lucky its not about talent but sheer perseverance and focus. More of a labor intensive repetitive task than pure creativity that may or may not require particular talent, as in many fine arts.
