The Hp reverb is fantastic btw I had one for one week. Trying out 5 vr headsets and that was one of my favourites. I think it’s $450.

The problem is the controllers. Most games do not support them, and you lose finger tracking capabilities. Even the battery pack becomes harder to get off the more you use it. I've had so many games where the controls feel kinda shitty. You can get custom controls, but it still won't feel as good as a Vive controller.

The meta quest 2 is unironically a godsend. I've always wanted to try vr out but it's always felt out of reach because of the insane price and commitment you need to take on with other headsets, add that to the fact ive never owned a decent pc and yeap, no vr for me. Enter quest 2, admittedly it's existed for very very long but i never paid attention to it or really anything vr related in general because i was conditioned to believe that vr was just batshit expensive. Now it's cheaper than a current gen console and doesn't even need a computer but at the same time can be used in pair with a computer. Really feels like the best of both worlds for its price. Goddamn.

Nothing, it works just like any other pc vr headset. The only thing I don’t like about the quest 2 is the fact that it’s FOV is so insanely low. Other than that, it works fine for pcvr and has good resolution.

Nowadays would highly recommend meta quest 3 as another comment has pointed out however if you are on a budget I would recommend the meta quest 3S, it runs relatively the same as the meta quest 3 but has lower resolution but it's still slightly better than the quest 2 but if you're on a tighter budget this is easily going to be your best choice

i replaced my odyssey + with a reverb g2 v2 and its been really good! the only problems i have are : the face cushion is kind of itchy and the controllers (in my opinion) arent great but you are able to use other wmr controllers with the g2 so i can use my odyssey + controllers with it :D

That's not how they work. The HMD is a display in itself. Think of like a smart TV but VR. If you are talking about wanting to watch stuff on TV, then you do it through the quest (it's a computer). Otherwise, with a PCVR system, you can just use any app to view streaming services. Unless you are talking about streaming the content you are seeing to the TV, then you just cast via wifi if you have Quest. O rjust use the mirror function with your PCVR system.

Easy answer; if you have a desktop PC, Or a laptop with a displayport out and a semi-good graphics card, HP reverb. It's going for ~$600 on Newegg right now, but it's worth saving up for it. Better display than the quest 2, but worse controllers. Honestly I think it's worth having the better display because you can just replace the controllers later on with index controllers, or some equivalent steamVR controller.
