I agree. It definitely takes time to get used to it. At the start your brain thinks it’s real. But the rest of your body will say it’s fake. After a while your brain will start to believe it’s fake and get used to it. What I think is cool is the fact that after months of vr. Your brain uses other senses for motion. Especially sound and visual. Conclusion, overtime you will get more comfortable and more immersed.

BeamNG 0.30 now have official VR support. Right now in test build you need to use Vulcan, and it tends to crash a lot. But when it is done, it will be full VR support.. Not 100% sure that is has 6DOF now, or if it is going to. But i guess it will since it would otherwise be giving players a bad motion sickness. 6DOF = 6 degrees of freedom. Moving back - forward - sides | Rotate up, down - side to side - left, right.

You are just fresh to vr and it does, in fact, get better (for most people at least) Brains are surprisingly good at adapting to things like this but it takes some time Excited to more vr videos, I bet something like carhunt would be a lot more thrilling with you physically looking around 👀

Yeah. Everyone's different. But the brain is amazing in how fast it adapts. Although I never had any sickness when playing VR for the first time. But as I said, everyone's different. I know a lot of people get vertigo in VR. While can just lob myself off cliffs without any problems. Same with doing aerobatics in flight sims.

Better performance and higher quality head-tracking helps with reducing the chances of motion-sickness. But many people can adjust over time (it varies how long from person to person). Usually the advice is to not push too hard in the beginning, don't get your brain used to associating getting sick with wearing the headset; start with shorter sessions, take breaks, not too much each day. Though a few people have said that they got over it by pushing thru instead of easing in; so different approaches may work better with different people. And there are probably many other useful tips out there.
@Venoxium Жыл бұрын
You definitely get used to it. When I first started VR, anything with "smooth movement" or any vehicle made me ungodly sick but after playing for like 1-2hrs per day for about a week and the motion sickness was completely gone and has never come back.
@lukass6433 Жыл бұрын
I’ve heard that if you get sick its better to stop instead of stay in vr till the sickness is gone. Because some people will like give a signal to their brain, and with that signal the brain is going to think ohhh everytime i play vr imma be sick. For me this helped so start with easier games and if you get sick stop playing and take a short break.
@PhilmoreJenkins Жыл бұрын
Generally if you get motion sick in vr it's due to the refresh rate. Higher refresh rate screens in the headset generally means it is less likely to experience motion sickness.
@thenitropower Жыл бұрын
Welcome to the VR community! It gets better over time, you can experience: - motion sickness (dizziness and puke lul) - dissociative disorder (sometimes in real life your arms or other limbs may not feel yours) I have only experienced the last one on my arms really lightly for a hour or two, then nothing else. It depends if your brain and body accept and adapt to vr easily, in my case it did. But don’t worry, after a while you get used to vr and it all goes away (idk for the motion sickness, if that’s something that persists on those who naturally have it even on 2D content)

The reason you get motion sick is because your brain is expecting the movement forces on your body like a real car. It’s calculating for the shifts in force and gravity when you turn and go up and down hills. The best way to solve this is to install a full motion sim rig to use with your headset.

City Car Driving is particularly bad for motion sickness in VR because its camera was made to simulate a person's natural desire to keep their head/eyes level while going up and down sloped roads. Add that to the expectation that you should have full camera control with a HMD, and you go straight to puke town via queasy boulevard. Whatever you do, don't boot up a VR game where you spin a lot. You *will* want to close your eyes (thankfully I got used to it in a few weeks).

To get less motion sick, find 2 belts and use them as 'seatbelts.' It will trick your brain into thinking you're locked to a seating position, and gets rid of most motion sickness.
