I mean a lot of them have become pretty pour deals and while yes they come with a discount it’s a discount on units that are not particularly stellar or that you really wouldn’t want to use so in the end it is just better to spend individually more on a single kit that you’ll actually benifit from than paying a total higher amount for somthing that you won’t use a significant chunk of

You only need one combat patrol, and wraiths for example need 6 kits for a meta list (some for 8bound, wardens, gladiator tanks, immortals, etc.)

GW is definitely happy. Very few people were buying Wraiths. They were niche and didn’t fit into the overall Necron play style. Then the codex drops. That old play style is gutted, with Wraiths getting a ridiculous buff. Next thing you know, they’re the hottest model that’s selling. Cause of people getting into Necrons, and Necron players who didn’t have enough Wraiths. I fear this will set a dangerous precedent for future balancing decisions.

Future? This has been a thing form a very long time. Even before 8th edition.

oh this is nothing new by GW. Every edition purposely make units that werent previously good or at least were decent, better for sales. Wraiths, already decent Lychguard, the Hexmark Destroyer were some of the hottest units in the game at the beginning of 10th, all sold out all the time. Even the Doomstalker was made better and to top if off, GW decided to put it into a new combat patrol that pretty much all necron and non-necron players had most of already with the 9th starter sets so it was almost an auto purchase. You can even go back a step further with the boarding patrol game mode that made taking 3-6 heavy destroyers auto includes, a unit that barely sold in 9th edition up until then

Important to keep in mind: different markets have different supply issues and preferences, and this is of course only one shop among many. So these numbers are by no means representative. Still, it is an interesting peek behind the curtains, and well worth sharing.

With the Inquisitorial Agents, I think you're right on Kill Team, but a lot of folks also buy them for Necromunda gangs, and for totally unrelated sci-fi RPGs.

I think it'd be nice if you also had an affiliate partner in the EU. As far as I understand (much like buying from ebay), one has to pay 19% tax + a service fee to the postal service (= Boris-Johnson-memorial royalty/ red-bus-tribute 😄) if chosing to buy from one of your current partners. Which obviously pretty much makes anything more expensive than buying from GW themselves.

Dude, Chaos Knight Wardogs are basically an endangered species. The ONLY box I've managed to get my hands on, both checking online and offline, was one my grandparents got IN PARIS on vacation because they HAPPENED to pass by a Warhammer store, my grandmother can speak French, and I asked them to see if they had a box. They only had two. The one time I ever saw one in my LGS, it was gone the literal next day.

Really surprised by this list. Wouldn’t expect to see a space wolves specific unit so high up. Tau kinda makes sense as the upcoming big codex release and nids as the 10th edition big focus. Loads less combat patrols than I would’ve thought and would’ve expected one of the starter boxes being there - maybe because there are 3 it splits the sales? Still, heavily concentrated across 4 factions. Be nice to see if this is any different 6 months from now say

I was thinking the same thing, but then I also noted that there weren't tankbustas on the list, so I realized the entire list must be fake, because we ALL know that every Ork player is buying at least 2 boxes of fine-cast, mono-posed tankbustas right now -- they have incredibly superior offensive firepower and cost almost nothing given their fire superiority. First thought ... the GW 20 count 12mm colored dice sets (in the plastic stackable cubes) HAVE BEEN SOLD OUT FOR MONTHS!!! They needed to be in your video!! ;) ... Your comments about the Hellblasters are spot on in terms of a great value; 10 elites going for the price of newer 5 man elite units now. I've been thinking about that prior to this video now for a couple weeks. I'm assuming at some not-too-distant point GW will raise the price of a box of Hellblasters and Intrecessors to $70 USD (and its equivalents in the UK and AUS/NZ) considering the new norm is $60 USD for a unit of 5. I've been in this hobby since 6th edition, and that price raise for hellblasters & intercessors would be a well repeated pattern of their pricing strategy. Their increased, "getting kinda stupid", prices have pushed me to now only buy any of their products on a discount! I think the biggest story is at what point will GW's constant price increases go over the top and result in declining sales? I know all companies nowadays benefit tremendously from the vast reams of sales data and trends, so it makes it much easier for them to pin their price right under the tipping point, but thats referring to competent companies that have a stronger history of making better decisions ;)

Heavy Lokhust Destroyers are great for any Necron player and both loadouts are viable. What really makes them dangerous is how innocuous they can seem to your opponent depending on your army list. If you run them alongside a big centerpiece unit like Ctan, Doom Ark, Szarekh, Monolith, etc then lots of people will be distracted by that unit and either forget about the Heavy Lokhusts or just not think about them at all if they're not aware of their weapon profiles until they get smashed by them. At that point you'll get one of two reactions depending on the loadout -- either "They do HOW MANY SHOTS?!" or "They do HOW MUCH DAMAGE?!" On a sidenote, it saddens me to see so many people using Canoptek Wraiths as a crutch.

It's just a very versatile box. Aside from actually using them in Kill Team, they make good cheap infantry for more elite 40k Imperium armies especially Knights, and character models for Sororitas and Imperial Guard.

Seeing this list, I would guess that people are still buying the models they love the look of and want to paint. Thunderwolves and Canoptek Wraiths are obviously meta picks. I don't think people are falling in love with those models, but definitely most of the list.

To be fair the list is a combination of meta units and great value per dollar. It really shows the two type of players: those who are on a budget and eager to complete their first army (hence the hellblasters, tyrannofex or marine vanguard force) versus the competitive meta chasers (see ironstriders, which are a total value joke but people still buy them because they are good in game)

Honestly this list matches my local shop too well. Everyone has a space marine army of some flavor. Most of us have necrons as a second army and we do have 2 admech players with a lot oc chickens. Also a few of us now play tyranids.

Was "warhammer Imperium" not released in the US? Because some things on this list (immortals, heavy destroyer, Vanguards, the Wraiths) were avaible trough this series last year in Germany/continental Europe, and I thing 2 years ago in GB. So you could buy these things ranging from 10€ euro (1 Issue e.g. the immortals, heavy destroyer) to 30€ (3 Issues - the vanguard force or 3 Wraiths). So I'm a little bit surprised to see them on such a list, because these models should flood Ebay en masse....

In general, yes, but it's a big part of being a tournament player. The same is true for any game with a strong tournament scene. Natural skill can only help so much in a game with as many random variables as 40k, so if you're not taking an optimised list you're hurting your chances of doing well.

Well, he said the data are from Feb to now, so if they have been sold out for about 50% of the data collection time period, that would explain why they didn't make the list... they have zero sales for 50% of the time... probably same reason the Gladiator Lancer, etc, aren't here-- you can't get them. So yeah, it's skewed to what's actually swimming around the market, but still cool.

Of the 3 T'au units of this top, I only have the Crisis (plus the kroot hunting pack)😂 I don't like the actual T'au named characters miniatures (exept Darkstriders), Shadowsun looks weird with her 4 arms battlesuit and and Farsight is way too more samurai style for me 😅 And in my head I'm still on the mood of 9th edition: if I make a Dal'yth Sept army, I can't use a character who came from another Sept. Because if I use Shadowsun in a Dal'yth Sept, I need to change her original color scheme (and I don't like it) or I keep her color scheme in the middle of all my Dal'yth army (and I don't like it too) 😂

That's always in flux because GW can give gameplay buffs to units that they want to sell better. See defilers in 8th, contemptors and dimacharons in 9th, maleceptors, plasma inceptors, and reanimators at the start of 10th

It's kinda weird, at least to me, how it wasn't just models from the top three performing factions. While I totally believe that some folks just chase the meta, or follow trends, instead of buying/assembling what they actually want, some of these just don't scream that, for me. Then again, it's also weird how low several of the factions that now have their codex are doing, and how far down the list of them you might need to go to find the second one that has their book. I've belly-ached for the whole edition how BS it woyld be for X factions to have 4+ detachments, and all their Stratagems, Relics, etc under their disposal, while others have ONE, whether it's good, or bad, but if I skip the Necrons, most of the top placers still don't, while few people might say that AdMech, or Dark Angels, REALLY benefited from getting their codex, while Space Marines; the iconic faction, aren't doing particularly great, either. Nice to see WGP DOES have Monoliths in stock, but maybe surprising that more good Necrons units didn't score here, considering the popularity of the faction. Also, NO Eldar? Maybe that's good, now that they are dethroned, but as a fan of when they were tops, I guess I was hoping that success had been moving units.

I got into the hobby in the early 2000s, and some of those models...I think they were there when I arrived.😊 Still, if 3rd party retailers could have Shadow Spectres, I expect they would have sold HUGE! No one seems to be able to get them, apart from a few painfully expensive Ebay auctions, or people with 3D printers making something close, but many people never saw the real ones, so won't notice the differences. Will be nice when the Spiders get updated.

Just the normal customer account for orders etc. If you search for an item at the top right of their page, let's say a Maleceptor for example, and click the little letter icon you'll be registered for stock alerts.

As someone who literally just picked up his first Tyrannofex, $51 for 190 points felt like I was getting away with robbery. No idea if it's actually a valuable unit, but it also comes with the incredibly fun, but hard to quantify in financial terms, "thunky-ness" that comes with dropping a big model onto the table.

When I saw Inquisitorial Henchmen on the list, I really had hope for fluff dictating sales for a second, then I remembered some people talking a while ago about how Inquisitorial Agents are great in the Kill Team meta and that hope died pretty quickly.
