To be fair, he couldn't have sown his own hand because Gray Fox apparently took it as a trophy. Hey, there's an interesting topic to discuss in a later video. Why did Gray Fox take his right hand?

It's a theory on my part but I think Ocelot grafted Liquid's arm onto his own because he found out who his parents were at some point - namely The Sorrow. I thought for the longest time that Ocelot had some recessive gene that let him be possessed by Liquid's ghost in the first place. But by the end of MGS4 we learn it was all a ploy to fool the system. "Cats do love to play as snakes." The only reason I could think of for him to go with this plan is if The Patriots also knew he was related to The Sorrow.
@luffiewebster9 ай бұрын
That's a super interesting theory! So you're saying Ocelot knew he'd be possessed and that's why he purposely stuck Liquid's arm on? Too bad Ocelot didn't have access to BB's arm haha
@Megajon9 ай бұрын
@@luffiewebster Not necessarily. The idea is that The Patriots would come to the conclusion that Liquid possessed Ocelot without realizing that Ocelot was just pretending to be possessed so that he has an alibi for when he works against them. The theory is that Ocelot knew it would work because The Patriots knew who his parents were. And the only reason he knows the trick would work is because he also knows who his parents are as well as The Patriots. I hope that clears things up. 😅 Also, Ocelot grafting BB's arm is low-key hilarious but would actually make for an interesting alternate timeline if Big Boss truly died in Zanzibar. 🤔

As hard as it is to trace down Ocelot's loyalties, what I like more about his character journey is that he gets so caught up in his own chess games to the point it costs literally his body and soul.

This was a pretty great analysis. It’s interesting to see how the writers adapted and moulded Ocelots character as the series went on without making his past actions look senseless. Just for your thoughts on something, a part of the story which always intrigued me is how different Solid Snake and Big Boss turned out despite suffering similar circumstances. What factors turned one into a war lord and one into a force for good.
@SHADOMEGA75699 ай бұрын
Wow Ocelot is literally just "Notice me senpai" as he pulls a ton of strings in a massive scale puppet show. MGS3 solidifies the Notice me senpai aspect
@Gaz66d6 ай бұрын
Ever since MGS1 Occelot has had reverence for BB. “ you’re pretty good, just what I’d expect from the someone with the same code as the boss!” At the time we all took it to mean code NAME , later, we find out that code has a lot of secondary meaning in terms of genetics. The entire plot seems to revolve around genetic predetermination. And “as the boss“ on a whole new meeting when you realize that he’s not talking about Liquid. Ever, since at first battle, we’ve heard ocelot speak highly of Big Boss, especially comparing Snavid to him. And we find out later that “you’re pretty good” is something big boss said to him and would always stick with him. So, even if it’s a recon, it’s an amazingly good one, but it’s always been there … that little seed of respect. Even as Ocelot talks to Eli in theMetal Gear control room… when they talk about creating a new Outer Heaven and recovering BBs remains there’s something there, Ocelot knows about Outer Heaven, like it was BBs dream- and he must’ve been there to see it (at least in part)

Let's all remember the time Kojima said "the whole scenario of Raiden on the Big Shell was a VR mission", and then let us go crazy. Edit: also let's laugh at Ocelot for believing the Patriots when they said S3 stood for "Solid Snake Simulation". The patriots are some real jerks lol.

Something that always bugs me between MGS1 & MGS2: After Liquids death, Ocelot claims Liquids arm and supposedly disposes the rest of the body. Solid and Otocon apparently/supposedly recovered the rest of Liquids body to use as a decoy after the tanker mission to make people believe that Liquids body is Solids in order to fake Solids death. So did Ocelot leave the body on purpose? Do you think Solid and Otocon had any suspicion that something was fowl when they recovered Liquids body and it was missing an appendage? Something else that bugs me is the snowmobile. Who left it and why?
@luffiewebster9 ай бұрын
Omg I think about this too!! Like, why did Ocelot leave Liquid's body after yoinking the arm? My headcanon is that Snavid and Otacon shrugged the missing arm off because they figured the wolf dogs got to Liquid's body first haha Also, how was liquid's body still fresh enough to use for bodyparts for BB?? Because he says he's frankensteined back together with parts from both Liquid and Solidus. Also someone said their headcanon was that the snowmobile was Gray Fox's snowmobile (because how else did he get to Shadow Moses?) and that's my headcanon now too haha So without Gray Fox they never would have made it off of Shadow Moses
@Megaritz9 ай бұрын
@@luffiewebster Liquid's body would probably be unusable for parts after it was at the bottom of the water. I assume the piece of Liquid which was used for rebuilding BB must have been the same arm that Ocelot had attached to himself. In Mgs4, Ocelot appears to have replaced Liquid's arm with a bionic arm, seen in the fight on top of Outer Haven. The Mgs4 database (of disputed canonical status) also says Ocelot replaced Liquid's arm with a bionic arm, between Mgs2 and Mgs4. The arm may have been removed from Ocelot and attached to BB. This makes more sense than the idea of somehow salvaging any piece of Liquid's body after it had been underwater for hours or days.

It's very commendable for you to try to figure out what's our favorite torturers grandmaster plan, but please dont do it remember scanners 😆 that what it will do to your brain, also the problem Metal Gear is each game after mgs1 kinda recons the series as a hole as they come out.
