Amazon are franchising in the same way Macdonalds does. Those macdonalds stores aren't owned by macdonalds - the land is but the restaurant itself is owned by a franchisee. It seems that amazon is doing the same. There needs to be a law where the company is responsible regardless of the franchising.

2 weeks ago an Amazon driver took out my mailbox, just ran it over and left. I contacted Amazon and they told me "3rd party, blah blah blah" and they weren't at fault. Offered to refund me the $45 or so that i spent on that order that got delivered. Doesn't make much sense, i got my package, why refund it... But better than nothing. Cost about 100 to replace the post and box. It was that or try to go after the 3rd party for the difference.

That is ridiculous. If they could compensate you 40 something dollars, they know they are responsible and should've covered all of it

they are contracted with amazon. just like an owner operator driving semi they have to have the name of the company on the vehicle. but the o/o of the vehicle has to have the insurance to cover these faults

If Amazon contracts to someone with out insurance I think that would make them negligent therefore responsible. Get a lawyer

these drivers are not trained for the vehicles they drive. most of the people they hire have never driven a truck before.... this poor soul probably though they were in a much smaller vehicle and YIKES, but as much $$$$ as Amazon has, they should not hesitate to make it right, and quickly.
