I think the silent king came back because he saw the main tyranid army and was coming back to prepare for that day when they all show up and or knew the only ones who could fight the tyranids and the silent king and the necrons will try and reason with other factions to help him by saying it’s the only way for life as they know it to keep existing

Yeah no, sorry to say to any faction teamup hopers out there, but the silent king actively kicks the shit out of the imperium whenever he shows, the dante thing is so far a one thing only. What is the most likely thing for people to grasp, first, read the new codex, second, the Silent King is actively wanting to reverse biotransference, and he needs the humans to still exists, tyranids puts a spanner in that hence him returning and taking back control. Bonus: The Silent King has also blown parts of the tyranid hives to smithereens before he returned to the milky way.

In the Cawl series it is stated that the Tyranid are only surface eaters and the biomass deeper in the planet is spared, so it's possible the Necrons could outlast the tyranids.

Necrons could just outwinter the Tyranids because they have no Biomass. Necrons could move to another Galaxy too. The problem is that the Silent King wants to reverse the current state of the Necrons. The Tyranids are a threat to that.

I'd say Necrons are something different since they can counter Tyranids but they're so spread out with less unity then some factions but if the full force pointed their Gauss weapons at those bugs they'd be less a problem even with the Inquisition fucking up

He destroyed the command protocol after he ordered them to go to sleep. Since I think he despised controlling his people like that, but used it as a necessary evil to keep all the Necrons united while they fought the old gods and c'tan.

I wonder what the Tyranids think of the Necrons. They are a hard counter to the Nids, no Biomass to consume, no Biomass to regain after a loss because the Necron weapons leave nothing behind and they cannot be infiltrated. So far Tyranids seem to avoid Tombworlds because of this.

Indeed it's a biomass sink and not worth the effort. Disintegration solves the biomass engine issue the tyranids represent.

They avoid Necrons as it's a waste of time and at the end of the day they gain nothing from it like you put it. But most interpret it as they avoid Necrons from fear which couldn't be further from the truth. If a hive fleet can bitchslap Chaos, they can sure as hell bitchslap the Necrons if they wished to. And all this commotion of the Tyranids is just from scouting fleets, it's not even the main Tyranid force.

I'm not sure why everyone keeps glorifying the Necrons to infinity. The only reason they gained significance is because of the C'tan. Most of the notable technology they have is also thanks to the C'tan. In the end, they even won the war against the C'tan only thanks to deception & infighting among the C'tan. Not sure what lore you're following, but if Guardsman can kill Necron and an Astartes chapter can challenge a tomb world, then they would've been obliterated by peak Eldar & Kroks without the help of the C'tan. C'tan & Old Ones were Gods amongst Gods. Necrons just ended up being on the right side of the war, and went to sleep out of fear of extinction only to wake up millions of years later. Zero credit to Necrons.

Yea they did smash 2 god tier enemies, but at the same time they lost trillions is necrons and lost a bunch of weapons, at by this time the eldar can literally summon gods on the battlefield and even the weakest elder warrior at that time would be considered as a god like entity to the eldar now so TLDR:the necrons lost to many people and necrons got to strong

That is correct! It has never properly been explained by GW (retcons will do that for you). However it's generally said the eldsr simply thought the necrons were all but defeated as from their point of view, it seemed like they died in the war in heaven. So they just never went looking for any Necron tomb worlds
