I don't know anything about Afrikaaners, but, even if they believed such things, please don't 'call it the false doctrine of the Dutch reformed church'. There are a dozen of Dutch reformed denominations in the Netherlands, and quite a number of reformed denomination throughout the world, with a Dutch heritage, all of which have nothing to do with South Africa, let alone anything the Afrikaaner people may or may not have believed.

Dutch reformed theology is just as false doctrine as any christian church. The Holy Word of the Father says we must follow the example of our Hebrew Messiah of the Bible. 1Pe 2:21 For to this you were called, because Messiah also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps, They call the Father and Son by pagan names, rest on Sunday, the day of the sun worshipper, they celebrate pagan feasts of Christmas and Easter, they eat unclean food and is uncircumcised. The Hebrew Messiah Yahusha, did none of the above church traditions. And that makes the church theology false doctrine. Our Father Never changes: Mal 3:6 “For I am יהוה, I shall not change, and you, O sons of Ya‛aqoḇ, shall not come to an end. SO follow the Messiah of the Bible, then you will find The Way. Joh 14:6 יהושע said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Through Yahusha you find salvation, not the church.

As a pastor, spreading untruths is as bad as inventing them. "Thou shalt not bare false witness." The documented journals of the early Dutch Settlers, including Jan Van Riebeeck and Simon Van Der Stell, indicate the truth. No. Directly translated it means separate-ness or the state of being separate. There is no mention of development so I don't know where you got that from. As the name suggests the emphasis and goal was on dividing people and keeping them separate according to race. The Apartheid government did not care about the development of anyone who wasn't white, other than to limit their chance of development and keep people uneducated, semi-unskilled and oppressed. I don't know where you got this nonsense information but presenting it as fact is deceitful. If you are really unfamiliar and not just a bad actor, I would recommend reading up on pass laws, the Bantu education act, and the ECC's troops out of the townships as a start.
@Interlocutor67

@@frances9975, not ‘a bad actor, just not an anti-white liberal. Separate development was and is a great idea. The goal was a self-sufficient white South Africa without reliance on African labor. Business and mining interests subverted that from the beginning. Dr. Verwoerd came closest to implementing the spirit of true Apartheid and we saw what his fate was. Things ran their course and now SA is reverting to typical Sub-Saharan standards with incompetent government, social chaos, and violent crime. The old system was far better. It was better for blacks too.

Today you read the Bible in your own language. You get the Word of God preached to you, in your own language. This was the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. As for Apartheid, the Gospel was given to each ethnic group in their own language, by their own preachers from the Word of God in their own language so that they could also worship the Lord in their own language and thoughts. The Belhar Confession would want to make this Pentecostal Gift a sin.
@juliusmazibuko4501

The spreading of the gospel and the translation of the Bible into various ethnic languages could have happened without the two evils of apartheid and colonisation. Nothing is impossible with God. Afrikaaners and British settlers didn’t come to South Africa with pure intention; they were driven by selfish interests which they disguised under the Bible and the gospel of Jesus Christ. But God exposed them and gave African people the power to resist and conquer both evil systems of apartheid and colonisation.

The man in the video says: “The Dutch Reformed Church used the bible to justify the economic oppression of blacks.” Your Response sounds like: “Yeah, but we gave the blacks the path to eternal salvation, geez! The least they could do is let us economically oppress them. I mean, only people filled with the holy spirit are capable of translating the bible into native languages. No other Europeans but the Dutch could’ve done it, right? We were a blessing to these people. So yeah… apartheid was kind of not bad.” So is apartheid justified?

Growing up in the Netherland Reformed church I heard frequent comments about races needing to be separate, Ham was cursed by Noah to be a slave and Ham was black so slavery was his descendants just reward, and those are the two big ones. But as I got into the Bible I could not find any Bible references to Ham's color. Since he was from Noah he'd have been brown. As far as races being separate, again no Bible standing for separation strictly on skin or looks. So I've wondered for years, where did these ideas come from if I can't find them in the Bible?? Finally it dawned on me while researching Jean Calvin a few months ago. Those ideas are from Calvin, NOT from the Bible. Yes, what a mess people create when they follow the words of a very flawed man instead of Scripture, especially Scripture laying out how to interact with and treat your humans. Read Jesus's words, Apostle Paul's writings, and Apostles Peter's writings for a refresher.

Can you exactly point out where Calvin actually says the separation of races? In his Institutes, letters, tractates, commentaries? If you have never read Calvin, nor any of the Reformers, then better be quiet.

@@hokalos Point out? You must not know the OT very well and Jean Cauvin's insatiable desire to replicate OT law as well as imitate as many of its laws and practices. Your demand for specific lines is disingenuous at minimum. In Purest Calvinism adhered to by true believers, you believe what you are told to believe, don't be asking for references to back up anything. In others words, just as Jean Cauvin operated in Geneva. That's why I had to research working backwards in time trying to track down the Ham was black, etc. I had no idea where this would lead to but was not shocked. If you know anything about the OT......how many examples or statements are made about "The Elect" staying separate, no mixing with heathen tribes, staying away so as to not be influenced by "outsiders". Keeping away from any ideas and practices so as not to taint Israel. Also if you know the OT you know just how important the topic of ritual purity is to protect the body of The Elect. Surely you have read all these many times over??

@@Baltic_Hammer6162 again, show me where in any of Calvin’s works that say Ham was black, or that racial purity was to be achieved. I’m reading his Institutes, I’ve read his Golden Booklet, I’m acquainted with the “Calvinistic” confessions: the Heidelberg Catechism, the Canons of Dordt, and the Belgic, Helvetic, and Westminster confessions. I’ve not seen a single piece of what you claim in such writings. Neither Calvin nor the Calvinists were even intent in re-instituting the Mosaic Law, they were not theonomist in the contemporary sense. Read Bullinger, Vermigli, Zanchius, Witsius, all the way to Kuyper and Bavinck. Calvin and the Calvinists had a specific view of how the OT relates with the NT and our contemporary life, it’s called Covenant Theology. They are so far different from what you claimed. You really don’t know what you’re talking about.

With the good, there always comes a bit of evil. The Europeans lived in peace for 200 years with the natives until the British arrived and instituted wars, implemented division and sowed the seeds for apartheid. Europeans left in the 1600's to escape the torture and persecution of true Protestant Christians by the hands of psychotic Catholics who murdered and brutally tortured in the name of God. By the grace of God they landed in South Africa and didn't have to fear being torn apart by animals for people's amusement anymore. Every single country is built on divide and conquer, if your nation is weak, a stronger nation will overtake you. If your nation serves God, your nation will be blessed with land and God's protection. Blood River is a classic example of God's protection.

At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came on those in the room and blessed them with speaking in different languages so they could spread the Gospel to all peoples of the earth in their own language. THIS was the gift of the Holy Spirit. In South Africa, the Word of God was given to each ethnic group, in their own language, by their own pastors. How was this not a gift from the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit used the Dutch Reformed Church to translate Bibles into languages like Zulu, Xhosa and Tswana that weren't even written languages at the time. Did God give His word to them in English, Latin or Dutch, so that they may hear His word in a language that they don't understand? No, he spoke to them through their own language by their own people. How then can that be a sin that needs Confession? Rather, that be joyful act that needs celebration that pleases God. Do not blaspheme against the Holy Spirit by declaring His work as sinful.
