Hey guys! In this video, I'll be going over the InGen Worker Village from The Lost World: Jurassic Park! This little town has made very few appearances in the canon but its still a fan favorite! Originating in Michael Crichton's second book, the Site B village played a major role in both Trespasser and The Lost World. This was Raptor Territory of the Tiger Stripe Variety and it lent itself to a really suspenseful chase sequence in the The Lost World! :D

It would be pretty cool to get a graphic novel about the lives of a few of the workers at the village days before the storm hit and when they had to evacuate the island.

I wish Site B was untouched and still an island full of dinosaurs. The fact that the island is officially abandoned makes me sad. The idea of a “Lost World” island full of dinosaurs where all of humanity agreed to leave it alone was so cool.

Again, those who are complaining do not see *the actual real world science* behind the idea of dinosaurs living sustainably on a modern day island. None of the actual plants from the Mesozoic are present, therefore the herbivores would overgraze on modern plants until none are left and they start to die of starvation. As soon as that happens to the big herbivores, all the carnivores start to go hungry. This is just the tip of the iceberg of ecologically proven reasons why the population dynamics of dinosaurs are not sustainable. The moment we start criticizing actual science in the JP franchise is the day we start to betray it right at its roots.

It might not be abandoned the DPG could have wrong information about site B. Maybe jw3 will send researchers to the island to find out theres dinosaurs there after all a top secret cover up idk we need site B they cant just write it off.

The whole point of The Lost World novel was to show that the island wasn't a sustainable ecosystem to begin with, the dinosaurs would have disappeared from there sooner rather than later.

Bennett Fender Which has been directly contradicted as the guys making the DPG website worked directly with the writers of the films. If the DPG website isn't canon neither is Jurassic World or Fallen Kingdom.

I love learning more about the remains of ingen's security and structure. Like said by Hammond in trespasser, all our secrets sit in a dusty room behind a lock door. All one has to do is, turn the key. Hammonds audio files from trespasser was amazing and the fan arranged audio book using hammonds reclamation was amazing and very memorable.

The operations building still stands to this day and can be viewed if you take the Universal Studios VIP tour in California. It is hidden behind the plane crash scene from War of the Worlds but sadly the years have not been kind to the set and you can only view the building from a distance.

The worker Village in trespasser is one of the most mysterious and most interesting parts of the game. Its really cool exploring the buildings while raptors stalk you then as you leave the village you come across 2 tyrannosaurus fighting each other. I wish we got to see more of the village in the lost world would of been great to see Ian malcom and his crew sneaking around the buildings while the raptors tried to find them crazy suspense.

The worker village sequence is hands down my favorite scene in The Lost World. I'd probably go so far as to say that this is my favorite location in the whole series. Since I was a kid, the aspect of Ingen's ruins on Sorna always captured my imagination and always made for great scenes in my opinion for both TLW and JP3. Up until the Visitor Center is rediscovered in Jurassic World, this particular scene was the closest we'd gotten to revisiting the familiar locations of the first film in the aftermath of the Nublar incident. In fact, as a very young kid, I'd always assumed that the Operations Building was the decrepit ruin of the Visitor Center due to the presence of those iconic egg-shaped doors. As of now, I'm still in the dark about what the events in Fallen Kingdom will lead up to but I'd be very enthusiastic if future films would revisit this spectacular location.

The gentleman stating they have dinos living in the wild for 4 years makes perfect sense. If the hurricane only dictated the evacuation of the PEOPLE on the island, and the original process of the island was to have the dinos mature in the wild, it would make sense that some dinos would have been there since 1993, since, I assume, they would have halted shipping animals to the park after the incident in the original movie. The 24 months AND four years line up with this idea. Two separate hurricanes.

That would be a very interesting novel to maybe learn more about this worker village from the perspective of one of the former workmen themselves. But everything about this place seems eerie. In a way it kind of reminds me of the Japanese internment camps after World War II. It also gets me thinking about the workmen and crew that were stationed on Nublar working construction on Jurassic Park along with the team of animal wranglers who in many cases had to risk their lives while doing so. It just kind of makes you wonder....Where did all these workers come from? Did Ingen hire them all? Were they lured in by the promise of an honest pay and hard work? Were they relocated prisoners? These men certainly didn’t have it as good as the scientists, engineers or other employees. It almost seems like they were hired to be John Hammond’s dirty little secret

The one thing I found odd (from the book) was that the company store was so easy for the raptors to tear into. Even with the fences, I would have thought the buildings would be more fortified. So, it would make sense that the hurricane we see in JP was the same one that hit Sorna because up until that point, movie wise, Hammond still thinks he has control. Book wise, they were already getting off the island so you think the buildings would be better protected with more than a fence. I’m way over analyzing the movies since I read the books.

I really loved the Site B village, the revelations that came from it were so intriguing. The dinosaurs living there were only let loose as a last ditch effort to keep them alive in the book though, between the hurricane that destroyed the infrastructure and the disease running a deadly course through the infant dinosaurs. This seems borne out to me by The Lost World as you see no fences surrounding the town. I loved reading about the shifting territories of raptors and carnotaurs within the village remains and the cuddlefish camoflage ability that the carnotaurs displayed, yet another notch to Dr. Wu. I am both ok with, and yet hate, the hurricane 'hand of god' theory that one storm wiped both islands out. I rather liked the implication that Ingen kept Site B running after the park's failure in an attempt to try again, perhaps with the park in San Francisco mention in the second movie. I was saddened that Michael Crichton died before he really got to flesh the series out more, his emphasis on the "Five Deaths" Islands always made me feel there were three more islands, thus books, to explore what exactly was going on with Ingen.

Despite the canonized lore surrounding the worker village, I can't help but think that there is more to it. Sure it may be one of the places of residence for the island's workers, but looking at the embryonics administration I can't help but think that there needs to have been more worker villages to even come close to fully staffing both the communications center and the embryonics administration.

I have a theory that the Hurricane from JP1 is what caused the downfall of the Worker Village and that the hurricane drove the Tiger Striped Raptors to seek shelter in the Worker Village and well ... you can guess what happened. I have a strong belief that the Tiger Stripe Raptors contained modified genes to be more social due to events played before JP1 with The Big One having killed off many Raptors which likely costed InGen millions of dollars. In the end it would have been noted that these Generation 2 Tiger Stripe Raptors were highly intelligent and notes would be taken on the fact they formed attack groups to raid a Human Village. This also links to my theory about the InGen Compound from JP3 being that it's main use was to conduct the illegal InGen experiments which were all Militarization of Dinosaur attempts. One of the experiments being a Militarized Intelligent form of Raptor , which arguably can be deemed a success because the JP3 Raptors look to be hand raised by Humans IN that Lab from the hints dropped of the Raptor who pretended to be in a tank, and the fact the Raptors didn't actively hunt the Humans as food, they only hunted them for their eggs and then spared them. The other experiments being the Militarized Spino hybrid which could be used in the sea and the Pteranodon which would have been an Air based weapon ( we can link the original JP3 ending to this as they instinctively knew to attach Helicopters). Both the Raptors , Spino, and Pteranodons exhibit behaviors of gene modification since the Raptors showed extreme intelligence and the Spino showed extreme aggression which wouldn't have been a trait of the Aquatic Fish eating Dino, hence it's attack on the T-Rex, and the Pteranodons which were also Hyper aggressive and knew to attack Helicopters per the Original JP3 ending. I hope there is some sort of Canon tie in we will get that strengthens alot of the loose ends from the Worker Village and the InGen Compound, because lets be honest, if you were to rewatch and Lost World & JP3 knowing the JP3 Raptors were the FIRST of the MILITARY GRADE Raptors to be created ( The Second Military Grade would be the ones from Jurassic World ), and their creation was all because of a document organized raid of Generation 2 Raptors conducted on the Worker Village which peaked InGens interest in creating Militarized Dinos in the first place. Then we back story into the whole coverup that all the worker deaths from the Worker Village were swept under the rug because they were written off as deaths from the Hurricane when in reality there were recorded distress signals from the Worker Village as its inhabitants met their brutal ends. It makes an even greater tie in if Ajay Sidhu was briefed about the Worker Village raid and he was warning his fellow hunters to NOT go into the Long Grass because he KNEW about the Raptor raid of 93, not to mention Peter Ludlow and Roland BOTH knew to not step foot into that area and cut the loses, however Roland immediately knew Ajay didn't make it due to his knowledge of the Raptor raid of 93 and the recent attack which he gives his famous line of " I've spent enough time in the Company of Death."

I always wanted to see more of the Sorna operations. Like, is the complex from JP3, given DPG revelations, post-TLW or pre-JP1 in terms of construction? Is it part of the new cloning efforts, and if so, does that mean thatwe have yet to really see the labs from InGen's heyday? Also, the aviary and that giant fence... really, I'd like some clarification on how everything there worked, and which buildings were constructed after Masrani inquired InGen, and basically all of that.

I found it interesting that the Operations building, where I assume most if not all of the "real work" happened looked to be better constructed (metal and concrete) as opposed to the rest of the buildings which honestly just looked like wood throughout, Although it was a bit flamboyant with the massive glass windows inside and out like an office building, same with the compound in JP3 (which I hope gets a video as well, as I assume they are different locations)

The setting has always been an integral part of Jurassic Park. Such constructive world building has always lent the books and movies more weight to really drive home the science fiction concept and the drama and survival of the characters. I'm also a big fan of so-called "ruin pron" which is why the only thing that ever interested me about the lackluster sequels was the ruined state of the park facilities.

I think what Hammond means with 4 years is that they kept it secret from people knowing since rumours started spreading about the incident in the park, not that it fell at the same time. I believe in the script date of -95 ish. Probobly they continued cloning maybe for research or maybe with plans of doing something new - which probobly would have happened if it didn't got destroyed by the storm. Many people in InGen seems pretty greedy for money so they probobly had many, many possible plans for the future.

It was always my favorite part of the Lost World, especially since it made for a fun 3D board game about escaping the raptors. If there's any lore left to explore about JP is always been about the whole history of Site B, those old buildings must have stories to tell.

Great vid. This area should have been more thoroughly explored in the Lost World movie instead of rushing the T-Rex to San Diego which should have been JP 3. You brought up lots of interesting questions that could have been answered in Lost World. I would have loved to see some of the environments from Trespasser in the movie. Now that is something that should be remade and don't right - Trespasser! I know another subject for another time. Thanks for all you do and can't wait for the new movie.

Personally I'd love to see a complete remake of Trespasser, same story, but new locations, gameplay, etc. including the worker villages. Speaking of Trespasser, I just loved seeing Nedry's office, that was as Hammond put it "quite outside company regulations" lol

I have a workers site toy set that was maybe micro machine size.. Full sets of the layout.. Cafe, burrows, and InGen power station as a kid. .It's in a shed. Really neat. Think I got it in 1997..

What happened at site B is such an easy movie to make, I can't believe we haven't gotten a game or movie that lets that happen. Just start as an employee. "ohhh-ahhh" at some fun giant lizards, and BOOM! Power off and people die/evacuate. Could introduce new characters that way.

Thank you for making the video I asked you to make, but I wanted you to make a video about all the structures. Thank you so much for making a video about my comment. Are you still on London. Do have an explanation why the movie is released on June 6.

You forgot that it was also in Jurassic Park 3. Wherein that scene where the camera points unto the car where Ian was trapped whilst one raptor was desparately and viciously ripping a hole through it's window. Plus there was another building where they were dead embryos of hadrosaurs and wherein the raptor used to ambush the party. Plus the JP3 claimed that Worker Village out of the vicious tiger-striped raptors, or maybe they somehow mutated and learned of using tactical and more social behaviour in hunting rather than being animalistic and vicious?

I would love to see again, I thought it was interesting in both the film and the book, there is something interesting about something fairly ordinary in an extraordinary place.
