Man, this guy is actually pretty good, just doesn't trust their team to handle the backline. I get it, only one tank means you feel like you have to do everything, and your team wants you to peel and take space at the same time. It hurts but you just gotta pick one and go for it - 100% of the wrong play is usually better than 30% of the wrong play, 30% of the right one, and 40% of trying to figure out which to do and moving between the two.

this is me and in my defence, this is my worst gameplay and shared it to see how i could improve. I could have submitted a vid of me absolutely dominating on Sig but that would only boost my ego. i could have stayed sigma at the start (most played hero/favorite) and dva is kinda new for me. but what emongg mentioned about playing to my heros strenghts makes a lot of sence. my rein gamplay making is me cringe but when ur in gold u pick up the habit of needing to do everything. thanks for the pointers and you WILL soon see me climb.

@@Milky_Mercy The pair is forced to play at a range that doesn't counter half the roster. I think this is the major difference. Tweaks, not full-sail nerfs for pharah. Mercy is weird. Mercy players may also be weird, mileage may vary. People are used to Pharah-mercy so it's a natural fit and I don't see a problem with it as Mercy value falls behind other team if the other support isn't Burst and/or Aoe healer.

Playing tank on Dorado against a Pharah as a tank is the OW nightmare at it’s worst 😢

Honestly best tank to play at that point is rein by just holding one corner until your entire team dies or by going winston or Ball and repeatedly going on the backline. If the phara plays alone all the time (flanking) dva can work but you need to be in booster range for that to work and the remainder of your teammates putting pressure on the tank so they can't perma push the cart.

As a DF spammer, its really funny to watch these rein charges because as soon as i bait charge i can slam Rein's backline and get a pick almost every single time. If i draw the charge and slam again I already have too much shield health for his team to win. The "diff" mindset just compels these people to take pointless ego postures.

They might complain about Pharah, but honestly they just aren't at the same skill level as that Pharah player. And I'm not saying the Pharah is good, but simply that the Pharah player at least is playing into their hero strengths. They are rarely on the floor, they flank and spam, they use their barrage often, and they play angles. Rein on the other hand backs away from enemy tank, charges across the map to chase a Soldier in Narnia. Holds onto shatter for OW3, and only uses charge after they realize they had backed out of a winnable fight. If Pharah is strong because nobody is contesting her on high grounds, that's not Pharah. That's just the fact that low skill players are being skill checked and exposed for their own incompetence in something as simple as "lets deny that high ground from the enemy dps before the fight actually begins". Simple stuff. This Rein player has negative killer instinct my god the shatters they could get every single fight yet they just refuse, lose all their hp, put up shield, and try to crawl back to team like a puppy with their tail between their legs. BONK THEM FFS JUST TAKE THEM OUT SHOW SOME PREDATOR INSTINCT MY DUDE

To go against phara as tank I usually go as mauga, since he can pressure a lot. Dva is also good. Ramatra is a safe pick for me. Otherwise I just have to ignore her and have to leave for dps.

You don't need to kill the phara, you need to be able to force her away from your team. By applying pressure onto the enemy backline for example. Playing winston or ball or rein and legit pinning towards their backline and blocking heals etc. It all creates pressure. Make more pressure then the phara is dishing out and she's useless essentially. Or just perma hold a corner on rein and play the objective.

Frankly, their rein didn't look _bad,_ it looked _scattered._ Like, whenever they had the time to commit to a play and finish it off it was pretty solid, but they were trying to do everything at once - even the things they rein just can't do well - and couldn't actually finish anything because of it. I get it, they just needed to leave some things to their team and focus on what they could handle - which feels bad cause sometimes your team sucks and you lose because of it, but it's still overall the right play.
