Great video! I just bought my first automatic, a Seiko with the 4r36 bidirectional movement. I noticed that the rotor makes a sublte bearing/zippery sound when it spins, like very fast clicks. Is it normal?

Is there any specific reason that the weight is designed like that? More specifically, is the center of mass being towards the outer layer the most responsive?

Thanks for your question! The first watch is a Hamilton Khaki housing an ETA 2824-2 (ball oscillating weight bearing). The second watch is a vintage Candino from the early 1970s housing an ETA 2772 (plain oscillating weight bearing).
