Whether to renounce... or not... depends more than anything else on where & how one earns one's income. If a person is able to generate substantial income from sources outside the US, and if he (or she) will suffer no loss of income upon renouncing, there is then a strong case to be made for renouncing. As for myself, I took a career path that made me highly dependent on... and inextricably linked with... the US economy and financial system. No renunciation for me (unless the US becomes like North Korea).

@@jeanniesilva6741 Just buying real estate or renting in itself is not enough to get residency or citizenship. Citizenship by investment is one way of doing it, but you need a lot of money to make the investment and buy the real estate required by the program without financing. Those programs range from $250k-$1mil, but at least with the real estate programs you get real estate that you can live in or sell later. If that's not your price bracket, you should look into citizenship by descent, sponsorship for occupational shortage jobs (that's how I got my second citizenship) or paths through the digital nomad visa (like Italy citizenship after 10 years in the program).
