Klopp laid a solid foundation but Slot has taken it to the next level, not because of Klopp but because Slot is also a good manager. Slot is utilizing the team in ways that even Klopp couldn’t, and he’s putting is own touch. Also let’s not forget that Liverpool has a recruitment team, and wasn’t just Klopp who built the team. I’m not saying we shouldn’t appreciate Klopp, but let’s not just do it at the stake of Slots hard earned accolades.

not according to slott , he said bayer changed their style and overloaded midfield deeper which is why they had more possession but didnt really create any chances which meant he could tell the players to take more chances with passes at half time .

What I realized recently was, we often “struggled” in the first half, I think it was because the opposition always careful to defend us until we score the first goal then the game opens up thus we able start to play more direct Slot knew if we always play directly from the start we could get caught in transition

I agree that those three should be first choice, but it's a long season with a lot of games. Even if they don't pick up injuries, if you don't rotate fatigue is going to get you by the end.

As a manager, not only he needs to know his players, he needs to know the opposition players and somehow predict the manager thinking. Finally an authentic Klopp assault setup and gameplay with both teams playing an all out-to-kill. Leverkusen operating at such high line especially the flying wingers back bombing forward as a result leaving gaps for Salah and Gakpo to run behind. Lucho operates as a false nine, ready to spring forward. Anfield was roaring. When Leverkusen high press and attacking movement failed, whoever Liverpool player holding the ball needs to scan and think quick for best possible pass for a goal. Jones pass to Lucho goal was a great example. His tiredless runs up and down was applaudable. I think he should eventually take over McAllister shirt one day if he continues to progress. Did Slot knew in his mind to set up the front with Gakpo, Lucho(fox in the middle) and Salah, or is it a revelation from to a tryout from the previous match with Brighton? I don't know.

i noticed a big difference between how diaz played as centre forward and how nunez play the position: diaz stayed in the middle. see all the goals he scored, how he was right in the centre when he received the ball. nunez tends to start on the left before moving towards the middle. maybe nunez needs to just plant himself in the middle of the front line and await the passes from his teammates.

I think Arne likes to use the first 45 minutes to work out the oppositions tactics/formation. Once he twigs their shape/plan, he shifts Liverpool into a formation that will win the game. It's too early to call him a genius but not one Liverpool would swap him out. He's been a refreshing change from Klopp.
