Saying their ass fell out feels unfair, one player made two completely unnecessary errors in the space of ten minutes. You could make the argument subs should've been made but there was three senior players on the bench: - Johnson would mean replacing one of Maddison or Kulusevski - Reguilon hasn't played in months - Bergvall is young and probably not at the level of playing Utd for 20-30 minutes at high pressure People are so critical of this spurs team despite them missing their "spine" in Romero, VDV and Vicario as well as all the rotation options who are injured, fair play to them not just for winning but making it a great game as well.

From a United POV I'm disappointed in the result BUT it means we have two extra days of recovery and time on the training pitch with Amorin. Going as far the the squad did in all comps for that first season worked to ETHs detriment. Bowing out here and probably the FA Cup in a few weeks isn't going to be the worst thing long term. Additionally... he's playing his system regardless of the personal available. We see the dead spots, we know what needs improved upon, and i think they clear a bulk of it out with the funds from Rashford and Garnacho leaving the club in the next 7 months.

Ok - I know you seem to have NO choice but to react to 'Tottenham' as a static concept - but let me point out to you that the 'Tottenham' in this game is a team playing 5 starter-replacements. And it was an 18yo CB whose inexperience caused him to play the ball back to Forster (a demonstrated slow-footed player) while the defense was pinned back tightly into their own end. At LEAST start your analysis off with this fact before launching into a detailed breakdown of the Ange system.

I don’t think ange’s tactics or the “game state” need to be over analyzed in this case. 1st goal: Our 5th choice 18yr midfielder playing CB gives a poor pass to our backup 37yr non ball playing keeper that Ange inherited. This gave momentum to United. That’s football. Yes spurs could’ve controlled the ball better. 2nd goal: forster has ample time to get rid, and has a complete brain fart. Ange has slipped on some details that have costed us this season, but if vdv was our LCB (or even Davies) and vicario in net, I don’t think these goals happen.

As a Spurs fan I agree with your point, I know Ange has a way of playing and I do like the attacking football at points, I struggle sometimes with the lack of defensive solidity and structure but overall the attacking style is good. But when you are 3-0 in a quarter final at home against Manchester United you need to recognise how the game has changed. We don't need to throw porro and Spence forward, we don't need to continuously play out from the back and allow pressure. Just play the game out, maybe try and get one on the counter but manage the game from then on. Man united looked completely lost of any hope when it went to 3-0 and we gifted them belief and made it so much harder for ourselves. Just being pragmatic and settling in a little in that position is not a bad thing and it annoys me how Ange refuses to do it

It's frustrating that Tottenham score four goals win a great game and the first thing that everyone says is "Mmmmmmmmmm I dunno Ange is kind of dumb". What was he supposed to do, hold Forster's hand during the whole game??Those mistakes are on Forester. Ange definitely didn't tell Forster wait until the player is right on top of you and be super slow like there's not pressure before you clear the ball. That's something Forster's had to do his whole career and he messed it up tonight. big deal. Everyone needs to chill and stop trying to blow Ange's head off for things that he isn't saying. Look at the southhampton game. We did recognize game state and we didn't do anything the whole second half. At half time versus man u we were up shakily up one goal so Ange inspired the team and changed things up and we instantly went up to 3-0. That's what Ange deserves credit for. This match was actually really exciting for me because it proved that... beneath the problems, there is really really good football there. The problems here were very fixable. For Utd, Ammorim needs to get his guys in and get some of Ten Haag's out. For Spurs, if they can figure out the psychology and the training to stay as sharp as they can be, and to fight as hard as they are able to, they'll be in an incredible position to start *really* winning. The fundamentals are there, they just need to create consistency and perseverance. If they do they'll be title contenders without a doubt. That is all to say, really promising things seem to be going on at all the big clubs that don't rhyme with pity and the next few seasons are shaping up to have fascinating title races.

Apart from those two blunders that gave Manchester momentum Tottenham crushed them - it may of finished 4-1. Forster has actually been great until this game and despite those blunders he still played well. That ball to Bissouma yup I hate that tactic it usually fails especially with Bissouma. Sarr had a great game vs Southampton but has been extremely poor for most of the season.

James you’ve missed the obvious… Ange wants his players to adhere to his philosophy but to read the game for themselves and they have the freedom to boot the ball if they need to go long… Ange wants Foster to play simple 10-15 yard passes to start breaking the press. He made an error then dropped confidence and caused a second error then he started booting it away. Foster could have changed his passes before the first goal and certainly before the second but then he changed… the players under Ange’s philosophy and system have responsibility and are encouraged to make brave and forward thinking choices but also safe choices if they choose to do so. Foster can learn from it and do better next time. It never felt like Spurs were going to loose that game.

It was the intensity that changed for United once mainoo Amad zirkzee came on that forced the errors and the press was so suffocating Forster was forced to go long. Honestly as a united fan I wanted him to go short

Don’t think we learned anything to be fair, both team were actually quite poor and all goals came from defensive errors and individual mistakes, neither team had to be good it was a entertaining but poor quality game

Preach on Kulusevski. I think his mentality is elite.

2nd GKs in most premiership teams are usually English, its a quota position so they usualy suck

So he’s not gonna acknowledge the fact that the momentum shifted when United introduced first team players (zirkzee, mainoo, Amad)

This was a fantastic match for neutrals. It must’ve been horrendous for a fan, the stress would’ve been through the roof 😅

I think Martinez ability was at one point greater than his physical deficits, but I think injury has ruined him metatarsal is a bad one long term, and can’t play in that position without recovery pace and jumping ability

Do you think Jobe Bellingham would be a smart buy for United in that left ten?
@RandomVideosFirst4 күн бұрын
I actually was thinking this the other day , he would be perfect he has the energy , determination and threat plus the physicality . Heard there’s an agreement with Madrid .

@@RandomVideosFirst I completely agree, and he has shown that he can control the game and has a similar level of composure on the ball as Kobbie

I also think he could thrive in the final third if given the license to get forward in the duel ten role

Sorry james I thought you were way off it with your analysis on this one, fraser forster single handedly swung the game into man utds favour, ofcourse the momentum will shift after you manage to score 2 goals from pressing the keeper. We had 3 of our starting back 4 out and not even our back up cb in ben davies instead 18 year old archie gray and djed spence who has never started a game for us? All things considered I think they managed well just to get the win.

Spurs are running on empty, tired legs due to lack of rotation forced by injuries so they will be vulnerable towards the ends of games now. They do need a GK and another winger in Jan.

For me, as I United fan, I thought United were as good as 1 man down with Eriksen on the pitch. Spurs played with ease around him, as well as him not beeing as good on the ball as someone like Mainoo. Not saying the other subs didn’t help as well, but Spurs created nothing after he went off, in open play that is. Of course Amad changed the game, but had United taken off Eriksen at half time United would not have had that 8 min spell in the 2nd half. People only seem to notice who makes the mistake for the actual goal, instead of looking at how Spurs got the chance in the first place. Look at Eriksen and his lack of intensity when Spurs are attacking…

I get the idea. But for Ange to be talking like the neutral viewer is the priority, rather than recognising that this way of playing is causing anxiety in the stadium which in turn affects the players, is naive beyond belief

Can’t give any credit for united for any of their goals seems very harsh, they pressed and fought well in the second half, not something they were doing a few months ago
@Thelastagent3 күн бұрын
But they always do this when a new manager comes in, and then 18 months down the line the throw him under the boss
